Thought I'd post this up for your enjoyment:

Was out shooting my bow yesterday evening. Hadn't shot a whole lot the past couple weeks and was about 30 arrows in and getting fatigued. As I was readying my final arrow at 70yds, my daughter came out to let me know supper was ready. Drew the bow, knew I was a bit shaky, then proceeded to slap the release like I haven't in a LONG time. Arrow flew about 3 feet high of where it should have, greetings my ears with an audible KLANK upon impact.

I assume it brushed a cedar branch over my target and would be destroyed on one of the many rocks in the embankment behind the target.

Upon searching for my arrow, I found this:

I has a similar situation a little bit ago. But instead of a tree it was a snow bank. Snow melted and the was my arrow laying on the ground!

Did the same exact thing at a 3d shoot this weekend. Son was talking to me and I sent it into a rock face 3’ from the bedded ram. My arrow was in a few more pieces though!

It happens believe me I should train my lab to sniff out arrows, lol.

But it's also a great reminder for those who shoot in the cities, stuff does happen. What's beyond your backstop, like really beyond...

Ya. I have about 300 yards of field behind my target and then some woods. I've found some arrows a ways back in the field before.

I’m also guilty of 1 too many. It’s resulted in rock meet field tip meet $15 in the trash.

Haven't we all done this? I've lost at least a handful of points/arrows on the target frames of my local range pushing things more than I should have.
