Long time lurker and have always appreciated reading content from this community, so I signed up. I am wanting to put together an EDC handgun . I have several I rotate through and have been partial to glock and the S&W shields currently owning a G43, Shield 9, Shield 9 2.0 and Shield 40 2.0. None of them are optics ready and none have a light rail.

Will carry IWB and in an eberlestock fanny pack.

I am assuming that tough and reliable are implied, Some other requirements:

1. Weight - I would like to keep it as light as possible knowing if it is a tank I am less likely to carry it.

2. Slim Profile - Thinking single stack. I have a G23 and G29 and never carry them. Just too big and bulky and print easier.

3. optics ready - i plan on mounting a red dot.

4. Light rail - plan on mounting a light

5. Capacity - I know if it is a single stack I am sacrificing capacity, but would love to get into double digit capacity. 10-12-15 etc.

Open to any suggestions - please shoot me your recommendations for gun, optics and lights! Thanks in advance!

G19 Gen 5 MOS, G43X MOS, G48 MOS
Trijicon RCR or SRO for the 19
EPS Carry for the 43X/48
TLR7 latest or XC3 light

Easy button guns. Shield mags optional for 43X/48

Tenicor for holsters. Do OWB under shirt when hunting or hiking for comfort. Or try a Crye gunclip on a pack cummerbund. I personally will not trust Sig handguns.

What was your experience with SIG that caused you to lose trust?

Won’t trust sig because of the 320? But will recommend shield mags?

Rock 57 Compact. I’m getting 1,850 fps with Hornady Critical Defense and the thing is ridiculously easy to shot and has a small footprint (slightly longer than p365XL but very close otherwise).

I really like my SIG 365 X Macro in 9mm. Fits easily inside my waistband. Holds 15 rounds with ease (I can’t get all 17 into the magazines). Accurate and has never failed me.
Sig 365 in some variation is the answer.
We each have a 365 to carry and 365 xl to reach for. My fat roll is too big to carry the xl.

365 with XL slide. You can carry super concealed with the small frame & 10 round mag, but still have 12 & 15 round options available.
TLR7sub comes flush(ish) to the muzzle & it's optics ready.
