Older, reliable, 3rd vehicle?

If you want to go budge, consider a late first gen Highlander. I recently bought a 2006 with 281k miles form a guy that was meticulous about maintenance for $4500. So far, I love this thing. The gas mileage is ass-mileage ~18MPG combined, but is drives like a similar vintage Lexus. Alternately, I don't think the Sequoia get much worse mileage and will tow.
I would absolutely kill for 18MPG in my Landcruiser!😂

Isuzu is probably the most underrated cheap reliable offroad SUV.

This is coming from a lexus guy. I love the daylights out of my GX470.

If you haven’t pulled the trigger yet then I’m another vote for the early 2000s Tahoes. I’ve had a ‘94, ‘97, and ‘18 4Runner and I loved every one of them. Beat them to death and they kept going like it was nothing. But if you want a vehicle you’re putting a couple people over the age of 12 in the back seat then those older 4Runners aren’t exactly the best option.. if you can find you an ‘02 Tahoe Z71 then you’d be cooking. Checks all your boxes with plenty of room in the back
