Objective lense cover for 85 mm spotter ?

The snap in rubber cover for my Razor Gen 1, 20-60/85 spotter is a real bugger and hard to snap into place. Can I use some sort of lubricant to help it slip in easier ? Would love to have a neoprene objective cover that fits right over top of the objective lense / sun shade only.
