The big spotting scope review have both the Athlons over the newer Razor and most everything else in your list. I just got the Ares 65mm and the Cronus 86mm and while I have nothing to compare them to off hand, from some quick use I don't see a need to spend more. I grabbed my Cronus used for almost half off as well.
I considered the Maven, but reviews were limited compared to the Ares.
For right at a grand I'm pretty happy with my two scopes.
