Not ugly self timing muzzle brake?

Howdy, right or wrong, I view aesthetics as an important part of my rifle system. I despise the look of big cheese graters on the end of a barrel or most other overly tactical looking things on my guns. Is there a self timing, hand installed, brake out there that is not such an eyesore? Something closer to OD of my bbl?

I have Hawkins side ports on a couple other guns. I prefer 90deg. They aren't self timing though. Or am I missing something.

Interesting. Those are more aesthetically pleasing, but I don't like the rearward gas vents.

Interesting. I'd like to support the home team. I need to know more. The YT links don't work. The self timer 2 looks better than most. Can you order them turned down to your provided OD? And do they have a 90 degree vent option? Or are they all rear vented? Who's the contact person for these?

I have one of his brakes on a .300wsm, and as far as I’m concerned, it is one of the nicest looking, best functioning, and best deals in muzzle brakes there is. It’s not exactly “self timing”, but I was easily able to time it in about 10 minutes. $37 to my door, Idaho to Alaska.

Ahhh - there's the rub. I've been looking for those two qualities in a brake as well (toolless & rtz). Best I've been able to find (haven't tried yet) is the Area419 Hellfire. Not sure if it qualifies as "not ugly" though... love to hear from anyone who has experience with it.

The tank st, once set, was the easiest for that. I bought it to swap from a direct thread suppressor back and forth. Once it’s set it’s essentially a fixed brake. No messing with collars or nuts or anything. Only reason I moved on is I wanted a more aggressive brake again.

Not sure I'm following you... the Tank was the easiest for what specifically? Can you swap back and forth, off and on, without tools? And when you take it off and reinstall it later, is RTZ true?

On the same rifle yes, yes and yes. It’s got a collar that once set makes it the same as a one piece brake. So you just screw it on and off. On top of that it’s got wrench flats and a hex head built into the front of you want to get super picky and record the torque value you apply when installing.

Iv used the a419 and APA systems as well. For what your describing the tank is what I would choose.

Yes, I have a buddy with one of those and he raves about it, but it’s definitely in the butt ugly category!
