North Dakota waterfowl nr change

I don't hunt ND, at least not yet anyways. But I am a big fan of the changes. I would be an even bigger fan if they would do away with all the non-resident guide services.

I hate seeing all the commercial stuff encroaching on such amazing places.

I think they will be on a draw system like sodak sooner than later

That might be for the best. I would rather see all the guide operations go away first.

If they did go to draw, I would probably get really interested in going. I like SD's draw stuff except on the years I don't get drawn, like this year.

I occasionally hunt waterfowl in ND. Have access to thousands of acres of private land via friendships I made while going to school in ND 25 years ago. I'm 100% in support of this change. My college buddies that farm up there get pretty frustrated with the hunting pressure, phone calls, and vehicle traffic once the mallards show up.

Hunted ND all my life (40 yrs old)...Dad and his friends have been going to the area we have a place in since the 70s. Bought a house and 10 acres 25 years ago. And my dad just bought a place in a small town...Never have a problem finding and killing birds. Be interesting to talk to all the farmers that rent out the small cabins they all built and see how it effects them. We were already in the zone you had to by the statewide license for. Not sure why they got rid of that and didn't just charge a bit more for it.

In the end Ill just go to another zone...get on water and pound those birds opener and save my 2nd week for our area when the northern birds and snows get in.

But literally never had other NRs cause issues with us. But residents short stopping us or shooting roosts is almost expected.

I mean at least you have to be a licensed guide in ND unlike SD. ND does have things to figure out with their "guide" stuff though in relation to NR deer tags. Guys that have a "guides license" can apply and take up to 1/2 of the available NR deer rifle tags and never guide or have intention of guiding.
