Hey guys! I'm mainly asking this for a buddy but really wanted to get some input from folks on their opinions on Nomad hunting clothing for whitetail. For comparison, he is primarily looking at Sitka Stratus. His concerns are sound, quality, and camo pattern (getting busted) . Any first-hand knowledge of the products would be helpful. Also, he is 6'3" 205. Sizing would be helpful as well. Thanks!

I have a lot of Nomad stuff.. Don't get me wrong, it's 'good' gear but not even in the same league as sitka, kuiu. They use performance textiles/fabrics and it's not 'bad' gear.. it's not cotton.

Again, for whitetail sits I don't think it matters but imo Nomad isn't even close the quality of Sitka and KUIU.

Just my say.. I do have a Nomad puffy that I especially like. SUPER light, lighter than KUIU super down and it leaks feathers but man it fits nice and i love it.

I'd rank Nomad in a lower category than badlands..but kind of in that category lol.

Agreed with Blandry....I tried Nomad and only have 1 piece of it left....a puffy vest that is windproof I got on sale for like $35......for that price, can't beat it. I have prob 85% sitka, 10% Kuiu and then then 2 pcs of Badlands and a Nomad vest.......that rounds out turkey season, whitetail and elk.....

I would advise, save the $$ and buy something that last's.

Nomad uses some decent materials like badlands and other 2/3 tier brands. I would call Sitka and KUIU first tier brands. Maybe they employ different plants in Vietnam or other countries where they're constructed or the QA isn't as diligent. they just seem to have more QA issues.

I do love the fact that we have other hunter specific quality outdoor companies in the game. I was excited about Nomad when they hit the scene.. bowhunter specific etc. I also have a lot of badland gear.. why I sell off a lot of my sitka and kuiu. You can find good stuff from all brands.. it's just hit and miss quality with the lower tier companies.

I have a pair of light weight nomad gloves with the thumb and index finger cut out. By far my favorite lightweight glove and I use them pretty much every archery sit and Turkey season. They fit and feel much nicer than my first lite guidelite gloves. I found them on sale for $4 at clothing outlet store or I probably wouldn’t have bought them.

Stick with first lite for merino then kuiu/ Sitka for the rest. Can’t beat the kuiu attacks and Pelaton 240.

As the others have said, Sitka is definitely better quality. I wear the stratus frequently as its very versatile, its also extremely durable.

Don’t know if it’s just me, but the dark font in the original post was barely readable. Lol.

No experience with nomad but I have had sitka, kuiu, and first lite. Sitka is next level for tree stand specific hunting gear imo. As a whole, it’s head and shoulders above the rest but your going to pay for it. I’m not a fan of evii pattern myself but I’m not sure it matters much, at least relative to movement, noise, scent, etc. I especially don’t like it on the ground though and feel like I stick out even though I probably don’t. The stratus is arguably the most versatile whitetail set there is. It’s windproofing is key. Biggest downsides to Sitka whitetail line is price, versatility outside of tree stand hunting, and they use fleece so things tend to stick to it…. a lot. At the end of the day, if he can afford it, go for it.
