Noise canceling headphones

I use ISOtunes. They are like a foam earplug but with the small hole so you can listen to your music. I use them when mowing, chainsaw, blowing, weedwacker and even for shooting
This is the answer.

Noise cancelling headphones or earbuds DO NOT protect your hearing. Stop using them when you need hearing protection.

Big fan of the Sony WH-1000. Excellent sound quality and noise cancellation. Problem is I got so used to the noise canceling that I wear them almost constantly and have a serious aversion to noise pollution. Like grocery stores seem too noisy to me now

I wear the Sony WH-1000s every day in the shop, on the boat and running outdoor equipment. I turn off the noise canceling & just use the noise abatement from the muff design. I too hate human generated noise :). My wife calls them my autism headphones… I’m 60% sure she’s joking.

I found a cheap pair on Amazon (I don't remember the name) they have been great and still going strong for 5 years. They cost me like $40. I'm sure they are quite as good as high end brands, but for the money you can't beat em.

I’ve got some mid-range Bose and they are great. I can wear them sleeping on a plane for a few hours at a time and battery life is solid. Check out Sam’s Club or Costco for a deal. I think mine were around ~$150 at Sam’s.

I got both me and my wife older models of Bose quiet comfort off eBay for $50-100. Great for traveling. Not sure I would want to sweat much in the over-ear style. They are comfortable and cancel all airplane noise out

Wondering what everyone would suggest a good pair of noise canceling headphones?
I have some JBL noise canceling headphones that are starting to get a lot of interference when mowing.
Not really looking to spend $300 on Beats, they will just be used while mowing the lawn and chainsaw work.
I got a couple pairs of Beats on Amazon on sale for $169. They do work awesome! I did see the new Apple ones have a bigger ear hole, could be nice...

If you’re an Apple user I find it really hard to beat the Apple AirPods Pro, the gen 3s have excellent noise cancellation and hearing enhancement.

For mowing and chainsaw work, get the Soundcore Space One or Space 2 or Anker Soundcore Life Q20/Q30.

These are the real user favorites under $100–150 strong low frequency noise blocking the roar of mowers chainsaws, long battery, comfortable for hours, and surprisingly durable in dusty sweaty conditions. They beat your JBLs on interference and ANC performance for yard work without the premium price.

Avoid flagship Sony Bose $300–400 for this great but overkill and less practical outdoors. If you want tougher built in hearing protection, look at ISOtunes or similar instead.

The Space One Q20 series is the sweet spot most lawn guys actually use and recommend.

I’ll be a minority here but the Walker Razors I use have a headphone jack I run to a lightening usb and for $40 they work well for mowing.

Both of my kids have gone through many sets of headphones over the years since they both play video games. Both have had a set of Skullcandy that have lasted much longer than anything else they have tried before. I prefer earbuds myself, more specifically the over the ear since I lose buds that are not secured. I bought a pair of the Skullcandy noise canceling buds and used them for everything short of the range. Have had Bose, JBL, JLab, Beats and several others from Amazon, the Skullcandy have outperformed them all so far.
