I’ve had one of these water fountains in my shop for years.

Just plugged into a 110 wall outlet and makes 8 to 10 gallons per day of great tasting drinkable water

That C3 looks interesting. How often do you have to change the filters and such?

I find that a little scary.

Pulling moisture from the air, in any quantity, makes big changes down jet stream.

Neat idea, hope it never takes off.
Scary?

Your logic missed a key point-

Burn gas, diesel, jet fuel, propane, firewood and the main byproduct is... WATER! How many billions of gallons a day of water above and beyond rainfall is that adding to the atmosphere?

Perhaps that's the "scary" thing.

CO2 + H2O…products of combustion of a hydrocarbon. What I remember from middle school science at least!

No go down in desert country, no moisture in the air most of the year. Good idea if it did'nt cost a arm and leg to run. Get ya electric car and one of those and the grid is all set. LOL.

At 40 amps, 220V, at our current rate, that would cost me $22000 a month running continuously.
That is the size breaker it requires. It won't draw near that, a typical 5 ton A/C compressor draws about 20 Amps +-, at 220 volts, but is normally on a 50 amp breaker. Still won't be cheap to run. I just read the spec sheet, 100 gals a day Ian't jack. Also a swamp cooler take moisture from the water and add humidity to the air, this thing does just the opposite. spec sheet shows a gal/min. but 100 gals per day, so it must have a low service factor.

We collect from ours for dog water, she seems to like the rainwater better though. I'm not sure if the pH matters for dogs but that's a different thread. I bring my Katadyn water filter with me down there in case of an emergency.
Not gonna work very well and in an arid environment.

As far as using air conditioner condensate for dog water, That’s basically distilled water. Problem with distilled water. It has no minerals in it. If that’s your steady diet of water, it’s going to find minerals somewhere. Probably your body.

My wife was worried about drinking tapwater, so we had a reverse osmosis filter installed. We were using it in our stainless tea pot, which was somewhat encrusted with hard water deposits. It stripped that thing shiny clean in about a week. Some say it will have no effect in the body, because you can get plenty of minerals from your food. but after seeing what happened with the tea pot, we started adding a few drops of minerals to the water.

I honest to god know a guy that hauled water for almost 30 years. He had 4 kids and a wife in the thumb of Michigan. I would never. I can’t imagine doing that

Evidence?

The world is 3/4's covered in water and this dude is worried about an extremely cost-inefficient dehumidifier.

Once my grandson ask me where all the water comes and why don't we ever use it all up. I told him about the water cycle and explained, ever since the earth form and there was water, the amount of water on the planet has never changed, it just changes state, vapor, liquid and solid.

If my kids fill up a cup with water and then leave it, later they won't drink it, they want a fresh cup. I tell them "that water is 4 billion years old, and the stuff coming out of the faucet is 4 billions years old."

Exactly. But don’t tell the jet stream there is no moisture, according to earlier post.
