Nitride Services (January Batch to H&M)

RE: nitriding the bolt, I am also going to send our bolts to get DLC.

I can easily expand the offering to Nitride and DLC if enough people want to mix and match or do anything else.
This is what I'd like to do. Nitride action and DLC bolt on a Stainless Defiance 700.

Then I'll have to sandblast and oven paint my polished barrel so it doesn't look weird, haha.

Yeah, but he's DLC'ing the bolts too I think.
True but in my mind that is a nice to have vs a need to have, ie I don't think stainless bolt on a nitrided action is a concern. He also is using blued actions if I recall correctly.
Reasoning or advantage to only nitriding action?
NSI said he's had issues with the bolt lugs becoming brittle when nitriding and had a couple chip.

Also REMOVE THE FIRING PIN before trying to take out the drift pin holding in the ejector.
Yup, did that once when I was troubleshooting.

My brass was grinding and I was taking it in and out and in and out. Turned out it was crud from nitriding stuck in the bottom of the blind hole that I removed with a drill bit but maybe the 3rd time I went to get it back apart I forgot to remove the firing pin.

Had to drill it out and pick up a kit from Ebay to get a new roll pin.

I was sad but happy the firing pin wasn't ruined.

I’d be in for 2x nitride action DLC bolt package if you were so inclined

Glad this approach is catching on. Go to @hereinaz for this stuff please. I don’t have another production run coming up until spring so I can’t be bothered to piggyback nitride or DLC jobs for non-NSI rifles until then. Obviously if you want a rifle or want a complete action I’m happy to sell you one, but Stephen has you covered for the gun plumbing route.

Folks speaking on my behalf are correct. I do feel nitriding stainless tikka bolts is unsafe based on my experience with chipped lugs. I do feel stainless bolts on nitrided blue actions are just fine. And I do feel a measurable difference running DLC bolts on the latter, which justifies the absolutely immense pain in the ass of disassembling, shipping, and reassembling those bolts for our NSI Field Rifles.
