Just used up the last of my deer meat (rifle season opens in 2 weeks). After buying a few pounds of beef in town for a pot of chili.....It can't continue lol, $7lb. The thought has crossed my mind of starting the research for a cow nilgai hunt. Yes, the price per pound will be much higher....but I get a hunt and experience out of the deal.
What do you guys know?
Draw vs. outfitter?
Juice worth the squeeze?
Lets chat.
Thanks!

I just returned from the king ranch and Kennedy ranch area
HF&F in port Mansfield is a legitimate place

Outfitted
The draw on the federal land is a joke ( might take 20 years to get drawn)

My dad has killed two bulls on the king ranch. Both hunts were paid for by oilfield service companies so I am not sure of the cost but the meat is the best tasting game animal I have tried.

As stated the meat is very close to beef and you will have a bunch of it.

Outfitter is the most sensible way to go. If you look enough, you can find a reasonable price on a meat hunt instead of the “trophy” hunt. I have seen where ranches practically give them away just to get a few off the property.
