Torn between which scope to get for my Browning X Bolt Max Long Range 300 Win Mag. Looking at the NightForce NXS 3.5x15x50 or the Huskemaw Blue Diamond 4x16x42. I shot a friends 28 Nosler last year with the Huskemaw scope and liked it. I Never heard of one before.

This will be my elk hunting rifle with shots limited to 600 yards. I like the fact they both have a zero stop and SFP and a bit more magnification. This will be a hunting only rifle. My 30 06 has a Sig BDX 3x10x42. I like it but want the extra magnification for my aging eyes for my 300 Win Mag. Also want to dial and not the electronics of the BDX.

I currently have a Bushnell Forge 3x18x50 SFP on the rifle. seems okay but looking at options. I have not used it for hunting yet, just practice.

Open to other suggestions.

Huskemaw makes a good scope. They’re Reliable and repeatable. With that said, Nightforce does too. The difference is that the glass in the Nightforce is significantly better IMO.

Thanks, didn't appreciate better glass until I went to CO last year and saw the difference in Binocs and scopes at distance. Hunting in TN and the relatively short distances we hunt, optics quality is hard to judge. Go to CO and start glassing all day and looking at distance and wow, what a difference.

I have a Huskema Blue Diamond (5-20) on my 6.5x284 rifle. It is my dedicated Coues whitetail rifle. Lots of rough miles on it, both in AZ and Mexico, over the past 4 years. Will be used by my friend in 2 weeks and then gets to go on 2 trips to MX this coming January. Been reliable this entire time. Just wished the glass was a little crisper at higher magnification

Only considered a Nightforce scope one time; the new NX8. What turned me off to it was the FFP. While zoomed out (low magnification), the reticle gets washed away against a dark backdrop. Not an issue for when zooming in for extended ranges, but if I am targeting a animal with dark hair (ex: black bear) at under 200 yards I want to see the crosshairs. Loved the glass and the durability. May revisit the scope at some point. On this model, the glass is better than the Huskema; not looked through any other Nightforce.

My Leopold VX6-HD has been great so far. No issues handling 16 days in Alaska (grizzly/Dall sheep) this past September. Better glass than the Huskema at maximum magnification. Lighter too. No issues so far with reliability. Time will tell on durability. Happy enough with this scope that I will be putting a VX5-HD on my 6.5 Creedmoor once the season is over.

The glass in both is very comparable. The turrets and zero stop are better implemented on the Nightforce. I prefer 1/4 moa vs 1/3. I would recommend calling if you are seriously considering the Huskemaw because not all the scopes have the same travel per click. It looks like the website has been updated and the numbers are correct. I’d still call as there has been confusion in the past. The Huskemaw is lighter. The Huskemaw May be durable but it’s not nearly as proven as Nightforce. Can’t go wrong either way. I prefer Nightforce.

I've used both scopes, the clarity on the Nightforce is much better than the huskemaw blue diamond, the huskemaw is lighter, the Nightforce is built like a tank. Hands down I believe Nightforce nxs is it better scope. Plus if you run out of ammo you could always use the Nightforce scope as a club. LOL
