Anyone have any recommendations on Newfoundland Outfitters for moose that they've had good experiences with?

No experience to share yet, but did a lot of reading a few months ago. It lead me to Moose Valley Outfitters, and we've booked a hunt for the first week of October 2024.

West coast of Newfoundland ,try "the next ridge outfitters " only helicopter accessible. Friends of mine run "Brophy and sons big game outfitter", fly in camps from there own plane , usually 2 hunters and two guides per camp, all walk and stalk , comfortable warm small hunting camps, hunting the way it suppose to be. both these places not accessible by local hunters. Some outfitters here, hunt by vehicle on the logging roads , cheaper hunt, but your competing with the local hunters. and there's lots of them

Went with iron bound a few years ago. Everyone in camp got a bull all were small. Drama was to the max and accommodations were excellent for the guides but horrible for the hunters.
The helicopter ride in was awesome. It took over a year for one hunter to get his horns back with no help from Mark.
And Mark misplaced my permits . For export so his dad and i had to go search his house for them. All in all id be alittle cautious to use him again.
The other guys i hunted with in camp want to go again but wouldnt give a recommendation.

Northwest Gander is one of the good ones, a small family run drive-in operation. They do well on moose but as is most places in NF they are generally killing smaller bulls/cows. My wife and I hunted the first week of the season in 2019 and got a small bull and a black bear on the last day of the hunt despite a hurricane that swept through causing high winds and near constant rain. Good food, good camp, functional equipment, and friendly people. All hunting is off Can-Am ATVs combined with hiking. If I had to point out a con it would be that our guide smoked a lot of cigarettes and was afraid of bears. That aside, he got the job done and of all the folks we talked to on the flight home that used other outfitters we had the best experience. A pleasant surprise was despite it being a drive in hunt we saw ZERO other hunters.

I went with a drive in camp. Had no idea I'd be competing with the locals, as it's all state land. The locals are not going to a fly in camp.

Hi Joseph, I am booked with Bob for roughly the same dates that you hunted but for 2022 and the same hunt package. Looking forward to hearing the report of your trip. Hope all went well.

I met a family member of Brophy at the airport. Seemed like a very friendly straight up guy. Highly recommended his family's camp, or his buddy Portland Creek. Said they are both good camps. Obviously a biased review, but who knows.

During my 3 days of waiting at Peter Strides pond their plane and small camp and the guys there seemed very nice at Brophy and sons. They did have 2 nice moose racks sitting there.

Beware of Double M Outfitters. They took a $1k deposit from me and fell off the face of the earth after he cashed my check. Guy won't return a call, text, email. I would steer clear of them. Most likely wouldn't show up to pick you up from the airport either.

For all you guys that have been hunting moose in Newfoundland, have any of you done both drive-in and fly-in? Is the fly-in worth the extra money?

I hunted a fly in helicopter hunt at Jason lake in southern Newfoundland with Ironbound outfitters on October 24th…. Took a nice 15 point 40” bull on day 3..
I have not hunted drive in camp yet, but friends of mine have…. If you can afford the fly in style, that it was I would recommend
