I'm a long time back-country angler and grew up in an outdoors oriented family, but this year decided to start the lifelong process of learning to hunt. I'm drawn towards mule deer as my first big game target species, but am aware of their reputation for being "ghosts".
I don't have any family or friends to act as mentors, so thus far this forum has been a primary source in learning about behavior, gear, and seasons, but I'm all ears for any additional resources! I know there's no substitute for going in the field and making mistakes, but knowledge is lightweight, so I try to bring as much of it as possible.
