Sorry to hear about your experience. Please don't judge the country by the actions of one jerk.
I've DIY hunted NZ without helicopter many times and it is true adventure.

Though I have to say, judging by your photo you were 'east coast' somewhere.
You ain't seen nothing yet, you didn't get to see the rugged country. South Westland tahr country will make most 'men' cry for their mother.

It seems that SCI and DSC should be better at vetting there auction hunts. There are certainly great outfitters offering hunts there as well and they all have damaged reputations as a result of these problems.

Why then they wouldn’t get the hunt donated and they couldn’t stuff their pockets full of cash while a naive hunter gets treated to the proverbial snipe hunt
