Anybody familiar with how this raffle ticket process works? Just curious he said it was a $7 raffle ticket that anybody can buy.......... Wonder if there unlimited? or only so many sold? was it really luck or did he buy his odds......
Yes, unlimited raffles mean that somebody with Casey's means could purchase enough tickets to "almost" guarantee the tag. It is still luck of the draw, but you could buy enough tickets to sway the odds heavily in your favor. It happens with all the raffle tags in Oregon and Washington, not sure about other states.so there was like 10,201 sold? so a guy like that could buy like 10,000 right for 70k. so could very well buy his odds? not that I really care or anything but that part of this story has me intrigued so im trying to wrap my head around it. Most of the lottery raffles that states offer are like once in a lifetime opportunities....
Thats exactly what happened. He's done it with the sheep tag as well. When guys with money find an animal they deem worthy they will just buy a load of raffle tickets to stack the odds in their favor. Its generally cheaper than the auction "governor" tag.so there was like 10,201 sold? so a guy like that could buy like 10,000 right for 70k. so could very well buy his odds? not that I really care or anything but that part of this story has me intrigued so im trying to wrap my head around it. Theres no point in doing it, WDFW has no jurisdiction over the tribal members. They get reported every year and the reporter is always told the same thing, its a tribal matter and they will inform the tribal police. Nothing ever comes of it. I grew up playing in the Colockum and its disgusting what they do up there. The guys that say that never have picture evidence of a body and never file a report with the game department either. I'm not saying that it doesn't happen, but I'm local to the general area and I can tell you 95% of the people saying that are full of shit.

I disagree, there is definitely a point in doing it every single time. I just think people need to leave their assumptions and the "f*n Indians" mentality out of it, because that's what instantly deters the game dept from investigating. I would bet a large majority of animals that are left laying in the field are from an excited hunter that mistook a spike for a true spike in the Colockum unit, or a 2 point in a spike unit. I know plenty of people that have witnessed this first hand in the field.Theres no point in doing it, WDFW has no jurisdiction over the tribal members. This is how tribal members take elk out. They typically target bulls, they drive right up to them, and they winch or party load them in the back of their trucks.

To keep this on track, I dislike truck loads of skin on bulls as much as I dislike wealthy hunters that buy otherwise untouchable animals and write cover stories as though they put in as much effort as a dedicated hunter that draws a special tag..
WDFW cant do a dammed thing about it, its out of their jurisdiction. The tribes dont police their own either. It is pointless when you know whos doing it. The guys accidently shooting a non true spike arent cutting the head off and running. You and I both know that.I disagree, there is definitely a point in doing it every single time. That jackass got the feed station shut down for shooting the elk in front of the general public spectators. Guys a clown and known all around the region for his antics. The irony of him calling out Casey Brooks is hilarious.Bullshit, excited white guys aren’t cutting heads off bulls on oak creek and leaving them.
A guy I know and trust was feeding bulls to get their sheds, had them on camera every day.
One day Aron white foots Toyota drives up there (only truck on camera) and all 3 bulls were killed, heads cut off, and the vast majority of the meat left to lay and rot (2 quarters and a couple straps were taken) this was turned into wdfw and nothing was done.
