I was glassing elk 3 miles a way coming up with a plan, heard a crash below me, rolled the rifle up on the spotter and smashed one a 100 yards from my truck.

My favorite was the one I shot across a canyon, ended up being a 2 track right below it and rolled it whole into a Tacoma bed.

That’s honestly the best. I’ve never killed an elk I could out in a pickup, but I’ve been with buddies who could. So envious.

You do it enough you’re gonna get lucky, my partner and I had just packed 2 bulls out that week roughly 2 miles round trip in and we’re joking we were owed a hard one, which we were planning at that very moment .

The memes made me a little less critical of the guy because I remember a picture I saw of "Elk hunting in Nebraska" and it was an Elk being hauled out of a corn field on a tractor.

This reminds me of a suburban hunting friend. He had a 45 minute route he'd drive through the homes in the foothills after work. Pretty successful till enough residents got tired of deer and pigs dead or dying in their backyards. That's how we got the 1/4 mi building limit applied to archery in AZ

If a guy smashes a raghorn bull on public (which BTW isn’t exactly difficult in the grand scheme of things contrary to popular belief) he gets numerous “way to go man!!” And attaboys, but heaven forbid a guy with money kills a big bull on private that has walked thru some yards at some point in his life. No actual facts needed, let’s jump to conclusions and start making memes.

I like my bulls either big or close to a road, you seldom get both so if the opportunity came up for a hat trick (Huge, close to a road and with a bow) you can bet I’m also taking it.

Oh I think you'd be surprised how many mulies and bulls all the Beaver State Billy Badasses kill annually are also taken over a big bait of Pink Ladies and Fujis. However, I'll guarantee you won't see or hear anything about that in the hero's tale of glory.
