Not bashing farmers at all. It just is what it is. And I described it as making money while losing money (tax policy). But yes, ignorance is bliss. My dad has been a Co-op manager for 39yrs. And yes, some farmers do sell grain and defer the money to next year. And yes, some do loan the Co-op the money and make interest from the Co-op. Maybe not where you are from. But most certainly where I am from.
The reason farmers get picked on is. That about every one I know just cries the blues about "losing money" more than any group of people I know. And as far as the "KsRancher". When I made this account I was still trying to make it as a cattleman. I sold out 2yrs ago. I tried to "make money". But not having a single acre of family land or single dollar of inherented money to start it didn't work. All the while all the guys I went to school with that moved to dad and grandpa's farm and ranches drive around in King Ranch trucks are "losing money" and somehow have been doing it for 20yrs and still in business (80yrs counting grandpa)

. I am friends with a lot of them. And poke fun at them when they start talking like that. They just give a grin and don't say anything. Great guys. But I truly think it's just a learned habit to talk like your broke.
But yes, I agree it's WAY off track from the OP. My apologies for making it farther off track.
