Tainted for sure, but if he was pursuing that bull on public land and couldn’t seal the deal, then by this time of year it moves onto private land…what are you going to do eat your (enter large dollar figure here) tag and go home? I’d be door knocking too.

But like mentioned, don’t hide it. I think if it was explained like I had mentioned above then all of us hunters could relate to that scenario. Yes some may still carry a chip on our shoulder about it, but at least you know the full story. Seeing massive bulls on private wintering grounds is something a lot of people see.

My guess is that since this bull was taken on the very last day of the season it was a tougher hunt than many are thinking. If it was just a “yard” bull this hunt would have been over months ago.

Not taking anything away from the hunter. The guy can obviously hunt with his track record.

Wintering grounds is probably what it came down to. Couldn’t make it happen in the mountains, then finally convinced the land owner to take a payment to hunt the bull. Not saying that’s wrong, but most likely how it went down. I’m sure he tried and tried to do it opposite of that, hence the last day of the season kill. Held out until that was his only option.

Now that everyone knows the bull actually had a name, an instagram following and a personality of his own, did this guy “kill” Chico, or did he “harvest” Chico?

Had to tie together a couple threads…
Can threads be merged?

Chico actually is a zoo animal and was killed in cold blood. Remember harambe? This is the next harambe. Justice 4 Chico

Probably a matter of it ending up on property where he had permission to kill it.

Pope and young won’t care about any stink around it is my guess; they have paid sponsors and promotional relationships with convicted poachers. They can use this bull to get all sorts of publicity

commented earlier in this post about how it went to a very deserving guy. seems like the more i read it went to another rich dude with more money then anything else

There’s a story with those bucks, been a few of them killed. They live in town then migrate out to rut..

That bull was a ghost, chased by tribal hunters and hunters most of its life. I have several contacts in great area, no one knew about it in my circle.

If it was well know another gov tag holder or a tribal hunter would’ve already killed it. While not conventional, it’s still not easy to pattern and kill a late season bull in the timber with a bow.

So this would explain why the tribal guys are the ones leading the crusade?
