Iv'e got about 315,000 miles on my 2001 F-250 / 7.3 . It's been a great truck with very few issues but I know it won't last for ever, hopefully the full size truck market gets better in the next 12 months .......

Max payload on a tundra matches the ford ranger.

Get a real truck. F150 all day long.
Huh, they're basically the same in payload and towing..

Please use Google before you post..

I would buy the new Tundra personally. The few issues seem to be getting ironed out. I'm thinking about getting the TRD Pro but 70k is alot of dough for a 1/2 ton IMO.

I am looking as well. The new norm for pricing has me thinking I really do not need one tho. I pay cash for vehicles and shelling out 60-70k for the same vehicle that used to be 40-50k is hard to swallow. MY 2014 ram 2500 6.4l gasser has been phenominal, ( knock on wood). 140k miles and never done a thing other than change fluids.

Loving the mileage driving my ecodiesel Ram 1500. Averages 25mpg on the highway, 20 overall including rough offroading.

You should take your own advice.... Ranger and Tundra are almost Identical

Toyota owners get so defensive, so fast.
I just looked this up because that seemed off.

Wow, the top Ranger has almost the same payload as the Tundra. Only difference is towing capacity (7.5 vs 12)

I have another brand's midsize that I personally enjoy getting 20+ MPG and hauling my trailer on occasion.

I’m just looking at 1500’s crew cabs. So far Chevy with a 5.3 and ford with a 3.5 are leading

Lots of people would suggest going with the 6.2 over the 5.3 for the Chevy. Same fuel mileage with way better power.
If the f150, check out the powerboost hybrid. I can’t see any downside to it.

My problem with the tundra is that if you are even close to 6 feet there’s nowhere for your body to go. I can’t handle that. So Toyota can also suck it. Leaves few options really.
You gotta move the seat back. It's manual on my Tacoma, on some models it may be electric.

It hurts me to say this. I’ve always liked my fords (a lot), and I like the 2018 F150 I currently have for the most part as far as features go, but I wouldn’t get a 3.5 eco boost.
I’m just under 100k miles and have had the cam phasers replaced once under warranty(~58k miles), again at a discount (I paid 33% ~$600) 20k miles later, and then had to come out of pocket for a full timing replacement $5k 13k miles after that. This is all between 50k and 100k miles. Only reason I’m still driving it is truck prices are outrageous and the last job has a 2 year unlimited mile warranty. I priced a new motor, and installed the cost was equal to about 1 year of truck payments on a similar new truck, so didn’t make sense to take on a new note.

It’s got another advancetrac sensor gremlin but none of the service centers have gotten it to happen when they had the truck, and it‘s a huge pain for us to be down to one vehicle so I just live with it for now.
Thanks for your honesty!!!

F150 and tundra literally have nearly the same specs towing and payload..

So if you're buying an f150, you're basically buying a ranger.. got it.

I work at a multi-line dealership and in May got a new 3500 Chevy (single rears). I use it around the farm, but didn't want to shell out or have the issues with diesels. I got the 6.6 gas and love it. Went to Idaho and Colorado and already have 8k miles on it averaging about 13.2 in the city/local hwy and about 14.5-15.5 when going out west (interstate/forest roads). From what we are hearing from manufactures, the chip shortage isn't going away anytime soon so if your looking to order, better get it ordered now so you may have it by next year. Also it appears that the issue with the transmission and engine combo on the 6.2 is taken care of, this is based on seeing the trucks in for service and not seeing 21/22 with the issues.
If you have any reliability/service questions hit me up, I get to see a ton of it being on the service side and have friends at our other shops that service a ton of other brands.
I love my 3.0 duramax, what have you been seeing with them.

I’d recommend the 3.0 duramax, only a few hundred more then a 5.3, I get 23mpg in the city and around 28-30mpg hwy. Fuel filters are cheap and def is like $20 every 5k miles.

I have 27k on my 2021 GMC and haven’t had any issues. I had a 2019 f250 prior to it and it was nice but a gas hog.

My dad loves his 2021 3.0 dmax and keeps trying to get me to buy one over the new Tundra. His tank averages are in the 30's, but he does drive like an old man. He uses it over his 6.6 dmax for pulling his Hewes to the lakes.

Owned a 21 F-150 XLT sport with the 2.7 ecoboost. It was a pleasure to drive. I miss it. Great fuel milage. Plenty of power. They have less issues than the 3.5.
Own a 22 ram Cummins currently. It’s nice but it’s not a ford fit an finish
If you don't tow a second gen 2.7 f150 is the answer.

Co-Worker has one for the last 20k. Don't see many issues. Biggest complaint by far is the mpg being about 2-3mpgs under the rating.
I haven’t experienced that but i don’t remember what the sticker said, i’ve had it at 31mpg for 400+ miles and the computer is alwaus a mpg lower the it actually gets.
