New tricer bipod

While I understand the theory behind the concerns of having pan on this bipod, Im not sure they are warranted. As Tricer has stated multiple times, the ball head seems to lock down very securely. Maybe it will surprise me and give way under recoil but first impressions, it seems solid.

Excited to give this a try on some hunts this fall

Agree, I’m not a competitive shooter but the pan seems like it won’t be an issue, I shoot mostly .308 and below suppressed so little recoil anyhow. I thought it could be useful on coyotes and big game, several instances where I’m in the scope tracking an animal walk and pan could have been useful

In my experience with an atlas, you will never be able to lock pan out enough to prevent it, without pinning it. You have 2+ feet of lever to twist that pan, the torque necessary to truly lock it out is most likely going to break things.

@Tricer Is there or can there be a taller version available in the future? I’m talking something in the 45-42 inch range?

I’d be interested in one for calling coyotes. Right now the swagger and Rokstedi seem to be the only ones in that realm.

Not in the plans. Those guys both make great stuff.

I think as is it's a great bipod for predators. Once I get to that height I will be on a tripod. The taller you go the more instability comes into play I don't have plans to make legs that long.

I ordered the RP the other day (had some GH points to burn) I noticed when it was first released it was $299, when I ordered it had went up to $329, and now its up to $349. Still seems like a solid tripod for the money but creeping up. I assume thats a biproduct of tariffs? Although I am a firm believer in the idea that if people aren't complaining about your pricing, you're too cheap

I will say that for the issue I have with the pic conversion to stock adapter, the CS team has been very responsive from Tricer. So at least they've invested in that part of the business.
It isn't the first time Tricer has done this regarding taking liberties with designs. My Wiser Precision Nighthawk comes to mind.
Tricer appears to be like many other companies coming to the shooting space. Decent ideas, excellent reverse engineering overseas, solid bankroll for inventory, and a large portion of revenue to marketing. Perfect to be sold to whatever PE outfit wants in 3-5 years. I wish them the best and do it again in another ten years after the mailbox money stops!

Thanks for the kind words about my CS.

To be clear I have never in my life handled a wiser product. Both the owner of wiser and myself ran outdoorsman's and saw areas where it could be improved and we both now have our take on it. For a 4oz pan head there are actually quite a few differences between our heads.

Innovation drives success and is good for all of us.

I don’t know who he is.Is he famous or just a freaking stud.
Looks like he must be with a mustache like that.
Seriously never heard of him and why should I care what his opinion is.

The mustachioed gentleman is Drew, he owns Tricer and always speaks positively about his own products.

The generic looking guy is Matt Alwine, convicted poacher and really good wind-caller sponsored by and unofficial spokesman for MDT, RRS, and Leupold.

Ironically and serendipitously for Alwine, the owners and products who compete with the people who give him free stuff and money also happen to be the worst people and products on the planet, at least that’s what he keeps saying over and over again.

I was cursing this thing as one of the legs wouldn't extend when I first got it. Just kept unscrewing. Finally realized the piece my thumb is touching wasnt extending and instead stuck bc of excess glue or epoxy from the piece with threads on it. Once I got it separated and loose on the leg it worked.

Also the little white spacer parts when wrapped around the tube will have a small gap on each side where they don't connect. line those 2 spaces with the inside of the tube (you'll see it inside the tube) it's going into and it will run better. I got them all mixed up when troubleshooting the initial issue. Ok tripod now that I sorted all that crap out.

What’s your issue with it?

The shroud for the adapter isn’t deep enough to fit over the sling stud for any of McMillan, Manners, or AG stock I have. I need to get some delrin washers and machine them down to extend the height. The other 2 options are install permanent pic rails or order the Rokstedi quick pic adapter.

This is a dumb question, but could you swap the stud for a different one?
