New tricer bipod

I don’t come on this forum much, but I keep getting sent screen shots of this, so here I am…
Hi, it’s me, Matt Alwine one of the match shooters “obsessed”

I think some people just aren’t big fans of being lied to directly to their face…

When Drew “Tricer” started claiming that
“all the top NRL shooters are switching to Tricer” when not a single top shooter is using them, that is an issue.
The rifle match community is small, so we catch onto stuff like this pretty fast!
I’m sure if your gear is indeed “the best” we will soon see the podium finishes stacking up with your equipment.
I have never made these claims.

Again for the 1000th time my goal is to create products that will make the shooting space better.

Feel free to return my multiple phone calls and voice mails. Typically that is how a man handles this stuff. Or you could have said it to my face one of the three days we were together at that match. Or when you talked to me for 30 minutes in my sheep show booth.

You have my number shoot me a call champ.

If you want the dirt of what this is really about listen to the first 10 minutes of this podcast. I am done talking now I have not said a thing for almost 2 months I will go back to that now and let the court of public opinion decide.

No need for that
Bipod seems great. Well designed controls. Really think the majority of us don't want panning though. Please consider another sku with just a hinge

try it before you knock it. I think the panning is critical to a good hunting bipod for tracking animals. the tension is so tight that you will not notice it.

@Tricer

I have tried it with this bipod and many others and I stand firm, no panning in a shooting bipod. I want recoil to come straight back through the rifle and the second that bipod starts to pan you introduce poor recoil management. I would suspect all the other comments on this thread regarding the desire for a non panning version have come to this same conclusion. Pin the ball head so it can only cant and see how many non panning versions you sell.

You looked me in the eye at sheep show and told me this exact thing and then asked me if I was familiar with NRL Hunter…
You had no idea who I was at this point…
I know you were busy and in sales pitch mode, you had no idea who I was at that point because you asked me if I was familiar with NRL Hunter.
You do you… but don’t get salty about me not wanting to be your BFF after this.

He did it first I did it better. Here is the final version and what I have filed a patent for.

Innovation should be welcomed not challenged. Feel free to share this with any concerned parties.

my issue is you claim in multiple marketing videos, to have “patented” this feature.

when in fact you have a “pending patent”

which is not the same thing.

stop lying to people in your marketing and you’ll have less issues.

That's exactly it. Have had panning bipods before, and got rid of them

Worse yet this bipod can move 360°
Slung to my back or thrown into a truck, these legs are going to grab and twirl the bipod around. One more thing I have to square up before the shot.

The goal is less messing and more rigidity

Not trying to dogpile a good thing. The bipod is 95% there. But the second a nonpanning version comes out, this one will go down the road

I think your comment has more to say about you, rather than Tricer.... That's a pretty silly reason to have a problem with some one. Hopefully you hold yourself to the same standard you're holding everyone else too.

So your solution is to chase him on a public forum, within a thread about his new bipod (not even the thing you take issue with) and try and stir up trouble? Seriously? I’d say you should start a dedicated thread at least, but a public forum is not how you work this stuff out…..by all means call him out if justified (much better to use your platforms, not this one) but I’m not sure why you’d do it on a forum you clearly don’t participate in? I’d just pop smoke man, this is not the way.

@Tricer I have to agree on the panning, tried it - not needed, would much rather reset my shooting position and body and keep everything square. Other than that, sure seems like a ton of value/product for the money.

I appreciate the new product.

I’m slightly frustrated by the bashing from others on it although I do understand the potential issues that come with competition.

That said, patents exist for a reason. If there is a claim that a patent idea was stolen, then there’s a process for that.

As far as the marketing with NRL…that’s marketing, can you blame him for trying to rally support for a product he invested $ and time into. It’s brand new, I wouldn’t expect every competitor to use it yet. I shoot NRL on a budget unfortunately, so I think it would be a great product for my next match. (And I’m saying that from having it in my possession for a week and messing with it extensively).

Outside of that, competition and product improvement is good.

For the bipod, which I think this thread is still about, there was a capability, weight, cost gap in the market that this has the potential to fill nicely.

I have one on order and will try to see how the panning feature works out but I much prefer non-panning, especially on heavier recoiling rifles.

If I don’t like it I’ll send it down the road and keep my Hatch bipod.

Kudos on this bipod very nice, as others have said it's 95% there.

Add me to the list for no panning. Hopefully a mod could be made to existing bipods.

I saw the pan function on a mtn gear bipod swivel nearly 90deg while my wife repositioned to make a shot last fall burn just enough time to miss a shot oportunity.

I am not going into a he said she said from a convo we had in January.

Call me Matt. This is getting ridiculous let's just get this squashed and move on with our lives.

I don't care if you like me but the amount of time you are putting into this has to be exhausting.

Again publicly I am sorry for posting that meme. I pulled it down after an hour and have posted nothing since.

You have my number.

Mine just arrived. Seems to be a solid product. Lots of adjustability. I’ll probably leave the long legs for rock chucks and prairie dogs this summer. Will also be nice for calling coyotes from a seated position.

Short legs for big game hunting. Looking forward to putting some rounds down range with it.
