My Muck boots are worn out so im looking for some new boots for tree stand hunting. Looking at Lacrosse alpha burley pro 1600 or thinking of going back to a leather insulated boot like Danner pronghorn 800s. I hunt private so 300 yards is about the longest I would need to walk. Any feedback on this would be great!

I have the Hoffman Double Insulated Mountaineer and they're incredibly warm and really comfortable. The only issue is that they've got 6 eyelets to lace every time you put them on. I've never worn the LaCrosse 1600 but being able to pull them and not lace anything sounds awfully nice.

I have insulted xtratufs and hoffman double insulted mountaineers. My feet end up sweating in both and get cold despite the insulation. My uninsulated hunting boots and arctic shield boot covers have been the ticket for me. I toss a hand warmer or two in there depending on how cold it is. They’re kinda bulky, but it’s better than sweaty cold feet.

If you’re not crossing water regularly I’d go leather, if you just wear them in the field scent isn’t an issue!

I use the lacrosse alpha burly 1600 for late season hunts here in ohio and love em. They're a tad heavy but they keep the feet warm.

Just pick whatever boot is comfortable for you and get it in a size larger to make sure you have circulation so your feet don’t get cold. For your purposes you don’t need a fancy or special boot.
