I am looking to narrow it down to a short list of powders. One of the variables is powders that are not temperature sensitive. Looking at REtumbo, RE-15 and RE-25. Can anyone with experience help?

I started with and have stuck with Hodgdon's extreme line of powders. I have always been able to find an accurate load, and their are not temperature sensitive.

Which cartridge? Not all powders are suitable for all cartridges.

A good reloading manual will give you a list of "known recipes" for a variety of powders.

Was always a fan of vihtavuori powders as their claim was consistancy from lot to lot. May want to look at varget for the same reason. Stocking up on powders and primers now as see another shortage on the horizon

H1000 is my go to powder for heavy bullets in the Magnum calibers, particularly if the barrel is 26" or greater. Others in the Hodgdon Extreme line are also excellent options, such as Retumbo and H4831SC.

IMR has come out with 4 or 5 new powders that are showing great promise AND Alliant has recently released some new ones: RL-16, RL-23, RL-26 are producing top velocities - For 30.06 in particular RL-17 is now my "go to" - 270 WSM and 130's shines with RL-22 - H1000 is a good powder IF you can get all of it in the case

the past 15 years, I have loaded R22 in mine.. behind 165's and 168's. Never had a reason to look for anything else.
