New TMK announced

Oh these are looking to be a peach….

Through fog thick enough to barely make out the slight orange discoloration- couldn’t see the USPSA target at all.

The XC load is the load for the 115gr DTAC- no changes. The 6cm is wildly light load- nearly 200fps under where it should be.

BC isn’t an issue. 985 yards.

What twist 6 creed did you use for these?

Thoughts on the 115gr NR DtAC as a do it all bullet in a 6xc?

Do all- not my first choice. The deep cut NR DTAC has been probably the best elk bullet from any caliber/cartridge I’ve seen. Somewhere over 70 in elk with it from near muzzle contact to 1,106 yards. It has the most exits, and the fewest average shots to incapacitation of any bullet or caliber I have used- including large 30 and 338cals. Only one has failed to upset in someway. However they can have a rather long neck length, and are not my preference for deer/bear/antelope.

I’m super excited for the 6.5 153. The 130 has been fantastic but a bit more weight for penetration and I think it’s perfect

If it shoots well in my Tikka I’m buying a bunch and not looking back.

How about punching shoulders on thinner skinned game like deer/elk/bears/sheep… good to go ?

Pretty sure his post is saying "non optimal wound channels" on less than elk sized game. There's a difference in terminal performance of a standard nose ring dtacs, VS the "deep cut" nose ring dtacs too. Deep cut having better results.

Roger that. I’ve got the standard cut NR’s and have been curious to see how they’d act on deer/goats/bears as it sounds like maybe they wouldn’t have the chance to do the same amount of damage that they would on an elk, maybe acting more like a mono on those smaller animals?

The majority of terminal damage will be on the offside internal organs due to the long necks Form mentioned, monos don't give that, still better than a mono.

They look pretty close to me but you can use your own eye-crometer.

115 TMK - 109 ELD - 109 Hybrid - 115 DTAC
How old is that dtac? It looks like one of the first runs when they went to rebated boattail and pointed. The rebated boattail has a sharp edge. I wish I would have bought 100k of those. They shot incredible. Since then I have had from meh to okay, but those first lots were holy shit, that's awesome.

I switched to Dasher for matches in 2017, I got a handful of DTAC’s from a friend to test in that barrel. Don’t know how long he had them before that.

I honestly can’t remember how they shot, I had a years worth of Sierra 110’s already bought and I stuck with them.
