Recoil is less than my 45-70 with hot loads and my shotgun with 3 1/2’’ turkey loads.

It’s all good. I like the build. I had a Superlite 30-06 with the stock 22” barrel and with stout handloads with 178 grain ELD-X it would loosen up my sinuses. I miss that rifle.

Just ordered this base and ring combo. What did you think about it? Did you bed the base in anything or just screw it on? Are the base screws torx? I couldn’t seem to figure that out anywhere.

I just screwed the base on, per Nightforce recommendations. The rings are med. per Nightforce recommendations, wish I had gone with low. I am going to try and exchange the scope, there are a few things I don’t care for with this one. I am going to try and get the NX8.

So that’s what a stock Tikka looks like, lol. I have a bunch of modified, “upgraded” Tikkas. My wife has a stainless 7mm 08 that she loves and has threatened me if I even touch it. Nice looking rifle

Very similar to what I just did with a stainless fluted hunter in 30-06 I had been eyeing at my LGS that happened to go on sale for 20% off. I went with unknown rings and the same glass.

Are those low medium rings? I just tried low rings with with the SHV on a 7mm and the scope was hitting the barrel.

They are mediums yeah. Calcs showed the lows being really tight so I went medium and they are perfect.
