There is a very large target market for this "type" of rifle. Rokslide "type" hunters and shooters in general aren't exactly that customer in my opinion.
What market is that? Predator gun? Hunting 100 yards from the SxS?

Not trying to be a d...just curious who this is aimed at since I can't imagine wanting to hunt elk with a 9.3 lb 7 prc pre scope.

Not a D at all. I’m 100% with you on not wanting one of these at all.

The amount of folks the “field carry” and “pack in” with guns in the overall hunting world is a small percentage.

The vast majority carry them to a “stand” and sit all day to maybe take one shot. They want to use their “precision” gun for this because it’s what’s cool.

Lots of folks who are casual or even somewhat high volume shooters are moving towards chassis style guns because “that’s what the pros use”.

Tikka has seen and heard the demand from a large customer base.

Plus there’s a lot of very casual shooters who might not even be hunters who have their ARs and Pistols and might want a “precision long range” gun. Like how the ruger precision rifle sold like hotcakes when introduced. I see this like a ruger precision rifle but better.

Exactly. Tikka is yet again about 5 years behind.

My interest has been piqued.

The Game 6.5 PRC would make a great box blind/stand/range toy crossover. The extra weight would be great settling down the kick of the 6.5 PRC to make seeing long range impacts a possibility.

Anyone got any guesses on price? $1600?

“ a great box blind/stand/range toy crossover”. Perfect description of the more traditionally configured T3X Super Varmint. On Europtic the Game Ace lists for the same price as the SV. The Target Ace is $100 more.

I have a Tikka t3x varmit in 1:14. Could have bought 1:8, but I bought a 22-250 to shoot fast, and 88gr bullets aren't as fast as 50 or 55
You can still shoot 50-55 in an 8 twist. I’m shooting 55’s in my 9 twist and accuracy has been great.

Man this rifle doesn’t seem like it’s for everyone on this site and everyone looks at it like tikka made it for a backcountry hunter and failed.

I’d consider either rifles and the t1x if I didn’t have my seekins HIT, the tikka prefit market is loaded. The chassis accessories they offer is pretty cool. Like my seekins hit I can shoot PRS factory class and NRL hunter open heavy or just shoot steel and short walks for coyotes. Idk why everyone looks at this setup like a oh man NRL factory class missed the ball there or they called it a game rifle and it doesn’t weigh 5lbs. Like there is teams and open heavy 16lb limit. Gun weighs 9lbs lots of room to play.

There are people who just shoot to shoot. There are other shooting competitions without a 12lb limit. There are people who don’t have to walk 2 miles to hunt, they hunt from blinds or live in areas where a 13lb rifle isn’t a big deal. This seems like a good crossover rifle where a guy gets a lot of gun for his money and it sits between a regular t3x and the tac a1.

They missed on not having a folder, maybe it will come. I don’t much about tikkas but I don’t think you can swap bolt heads? Maybe if they could offer different bolt heads or whole bolts so a guy can own one action and multiple barrels from 223 to magnum stuff?

I generally agree with you, its like the RPR which sold a bunch but wasn't particular great for any competition or hunting discipline. Tikka's UPR is already a better version for NRL hunter and hunting IMO. This might be preferred by the guys who just shoot a bit and want a bolt rifle and think chassis are cool.

Another thing i didn't notice at first - it looks like the 'game' version uses 5 and 6 rd standard tikka plastic mags which seems like a miss for this application. Why not use the CTR mags like the Target version? If a guy wants 10 rd mags for competition with the Game model he might have to look at dropping $100+ for waters rifleman mags.
