New Swarovski from Cabelas. They sent a display box.

That’s a good deal. I would be happy with that. Swaro will take care of you if anything is wrong.
This. It would be one thing if there was no warranty due to being a demo. But Swarovski will likely rebuild them for you - and probably more than once - over the life of the binoculars if you have problems.

Just do a google search or forum search on here or in any gun related website and you’ll soon see. They sold me a “brand new” Elcan Spectr years ago that was clearly used and non functional. Advertise everything is in stock when it isn’t. Poor customer service. The list goes on.
Actually now that you mention it I ordered some eberlestock batwing pouches for my mainframe that were in stock, but they were actually back ordered and I didn’t get them for two months. It was over the winter so didn’t care too much but interesting that is a common problem. Still they haven’t been terrible to me but I’ll do more research before I buy from them again.

Soap and brush are in that other small white box.

I ordered from cabelas website, didn’t think I’d be getting a display model. How much of a discount would you ask for? One guy suggested 10% another said he bought demos for several hundred off.
Also they appear unharmed but I would at least expect some paper stuffed around in the box to help cushion them. I don’t think that’s too much to ask for how expensive they are. I used to box shipments at Rocky Mountain atv right after high school and they did random inspections to make sure people were boxing things correctly, if you tried to ship something like that you’d get chewed out.

Online orders are just fulfilled from a brick and mortar location so whatever store that had them in stock and got the order notification sent them out.

You’re missing the strap tabs (half of the set) get 10% off griping and enjoy your glass.

To me it wouldn't matter if they came to your doorstep in perfect condition, YOU purchased in good faith a NEW pair of bino's ........ THEY sent you a DEMO pair at FULL price. That's a bit shady in my book, if you don't need them right away i would definitely be asking for a return and re-ship you a new pair. Cabelas has gone in the tank ever since Bass Pro sucked them up, personally i have no use for either of them .....but that's just me ...
I think they went in the tank just a little bit before that…. That’s why Bass Pro was able to gobble them up…

Why would anyone buy anything from Cabela‘s theses days?
They essentially have an unlimited warranty/refund/exchange policy on everything they carry. Not sure how it applies to high end glass, but it works on fly rods.

Because I could get new els after tax for $1900. Who would you recommend for glass? Sometime this year I want to get another objective for my atx and btx because I currenty have both but only one 65mm objective. Tempted to get one of those demo 85mm from europtic but will prob weight for a good deal on a 95mm.

I’ve heard since bass pro bought them the warranty thing changed. Not sure haven’t needed to warranty anything from them.

You always ask for more than you expect to get, unless your a rookie
Sometimes your better of to shoot for expected then try to get more. Sometimes that rookie card can go both ways.

I had a customer ask for a discount on display binos once. I said, “I am authorized to do 10% without approval from a manager, so I can do that.” He said “I want 15%.” So I went and asked a manager who in turn said 5%. Walked back out to him and said “manager said 5%.” Sometimes it pays off, sometimes it doesn’t.

In the end, OP seems happy.

After I posted above, I though back and have bought 2 Swaro demo products. What I received appeared to be new in box and have given me a decade+ of trouble-free use.

I’m fairly certain there are a few retailers who’s bread and butter is “Demo” models.

This happened to me with a spotting scope that I ordered from cabelas a couple years ago. I ended up returning it in store and buying a different one. If I’m spending a bunch of money on a new product, I’d prefer it to be brand new…

Hmmm, I just ordered a Swaro Z3 scope from Cabelas. With Raise and ActiveJunky promos Cabelas still cna provide some decent pricing. The scope arrived in a much larger packaging box than the scope box itself(not that big of deal). They'd put that thin sticky bubble wrap on the scope box and that's all that was in there. No padding, no paperwork at all that would indicate it was my order. The scope box itself wasn't sealed in any way. I can't remember how they come new from Swaro but it seemed like this had been opened already. The scope looks clean but there was smudges on the tube which with a little effort I was able to wipe off. I think I got the same treatment as the OP although the box doesn't say display on it.

Someone should have their username on the forum be “Cabelas”. Could be called a “Well disliked member” instead of the WKR moniker. Would become a popular fellow.

White box with a green sleeve. There shouldn’t be any tape or anything holding the sleeve to the box.

It was most likely a display model. Not many stores carry more than one, unless they sell them regularly.
