New Strings (needed) What to buy, where to source?

I’m about to take that same plunge and I think I’m gonna do Catfish Customs after some research. My shop orders them (I was considering ABB Launch) & they seem to have great reviews.

I just want to thank everybody here who has chimed in and give advise and direction. This is a great community.

After considering all mentioned here and also reading some other forums, Im pretty sure I have decided to go with Threadz. Im going to call and chat with them early next week when I have some time.

Feel free to keep the conversation going, it can only help serve others looking in the future!

I will say that when our archery club was putting together a fundraiser for CRWM last year that was on top of the $55k donation made, Catfish Customs was the only bowstring company who donated (two certificates for sets, I think), and one of the few who even responded.

@justin davis turned me onto Mike and the VEC99 material a few years ago, and they have outlasted other brands 3:1

Just put on Catfish Customs. Mike was super responsive even after hours. Great product and customer service.

JBK Bowstrings and it’s not even close.. Catfish is good so is Threadz

Bowtech?

The amount of bend the cams put on the cables are very prone to serving separation.

Shouldn't happen, just saying it does make it difficult. Anyone selling the strings should know which ones are problems.

Nah, Hoyts; my non-Turbo and Turbo both had really bad separation - might have just been a bad batch or maybe the quality control has declined who knows. I went with JBK for my last set and so far they've be doing well but time will tell

Mike at catfish customs make a really nice string. He gets lots of love for the bloodline strings, but personally I am not a fan and prefer BCY material. I had a lot of peep twist with the bloodline material

So I need to replace the strings on my bow. Way over due. Give me suggestions, and best place to get them. I have a press and will do the work myself. Ive been pretty out of the archery world, other than just shooting what I have, for quite some time. So I really dont know whats out there, good or bad.

I looked at 60x briefly, and have read a little about JBK. Thats about the extent of my new string knowledge at this point.

Thanks in advance!
You probably have something by now, but the couple sets of jbk that I have had have been the best I’ve had.

I generally just use ABB platinum because that’s who the shop I use deals with and I like keeping things easy for people, and they are also a good string, but the jbk have been the nicest and longest lasting

I have shot a bunch of strings over the years, and remember when winners choice were the gold standard (early 2000’s)

Now there are a lot of really good builders. I know catfish are top notch, and jbk, and the gas and ABB are good too.

My last 2 sets have had real bad serving separation issues; you getting that on any of your strings? My Gas strings also had real bad serving separation, so maybe it's not just an ABB thing.
My last 4-5 sets have been ABB (pse, prime, and mathews bows) and have not had any serving problems at all, might even be my last 6-8 sets have been ABB.

The only other set I have shot since 18’ was the stock string on a Mach 1 that were actually good, I shot them for at least 8 months before buying a set of ABB, but the stock string set is still in really good shape. That’s the only factory string I can think of that I kept for awhile, because they were not causing problems at all.

Anyone using the Bloodline material? I know Catfish and Phantom builds strings with it. Now that it’s been out for a few years I’m curious to hear what those who have been using it think of it.

I had peep twist issues on multiple strings. I stick with BCY now.

I know others love it
