New Steiner H6Xi Line

I don’t have an issue with parallax. I do find the elevation and windage turret clicks to be less than desirable. They are definitely tactile and distinct but they are gritty. Not like my Nightforce turrets that are smooth.

The weather was shitty and blowing today so I didn’t get to do a full test but I did run the turret up and back for a few shots and they all landed in the same places with roughly the correct distance between them. I say roughly because it wasn’t perfect but my target was also swaying back and forth in the wind

I am not a fan of the MHR reticle though
What don’t you like about it?

I don’t like that the elevation marks are not an even and equal space. It’s impossible for me to remember that 4 marks down is 5.6MOA instead of just being 4MOA. They are all wonky like that after 3

Draw a little one with the numbers on a scope cover sticker. That way it’s always there. Soon you’ll memorize the 7 marks.

I agree. It’s one of the things that keeps me from trying it. Hunters need something they can quick reference under stress. That said, The reality for me would be that I wouldn’t be holding beyond 4 moa. It’s a very clean tree reticle which is good. Does it draw your eye to center on 3 power…are the outer stadia thick enough?

I’m going to have to do that. I’m not smart enough to ever memorize all the different intervals😂

The issue though is I don’t want to have to reference something outside of the scope. Especially not when I’m in lizard brain mode and staring at an animal through the scope with my firing solution in my head.

I’m going to keep working with it because I typical only do holdover for closer shots and the 4MOA mark will probably be the limit of where I go anyway. I’ll dial for anything further

I’m the same and why I have a little picture to look at on the scope! Buck fever is real for me.

I was all set to buy the 2-12 till I saw the uneven elevation marks. Don’t know why Burris wouldn’t do even 2 moa hash marks. I always dial for elevation anyways so I may still purchase one and just ignore the hash marks below the 4 moa mark. Looks like a great lighter weight hunting scope. Anyone have any feedback on durability and tracking?

Where can you find the MHR reticle explained? For the life of me I can't find a website review that defines what the has marks are set at.

Anyone had any time with these? I was dropping off a barrel today for cerakote and someone had one in on consignment to sell. 3x18 mil version and I have to say I liked it.

I'm a NX8 Mil-C guy and I feel like other than the magnification range, this is a competitor. I liked the semi lit illumination instead of the whole reticle blowing your your eye. The reticle is fine but without having it next to my NX8s to compare it's hard to say how they compare.

Zoomed out the thickened edges of the reticle caught my eye and it looks like a simple duplex style reticle. Took me to around 8 to 10x to feel confident in reading the hold overs though.

Has anyone checked tracking or durability on zero retention?

I have 2 of the moa version. I really like them. No issues so far. Took an elk and multiple deer with it this year.

Reticle becomes usable pretty early in the magnification. Good but not great illumination.

Firing up an old thread. Doesn’t anyone else have experience with these scopes? I’m looking at the 3-18 specifically.

I have the 3-18 in mil/first focal. I have enjoyed it alot good field of view, clean and clear glass and positive clicks on the turrets. Easy to reset zero. I still need to play around with it seeing as I only have 12 mils of total travel on the elevation before I even sighted in the scope so idk what thats about. Luckily with my Zero it worked out that from the factory by the grace of luck I didnt have to go down in travel anymore then where zero was set at put of the box. Dont ask me how, it just worked out that way, so needless to say I cannot travel under my zero at all and I have a full 12 mils of elevation left.

Unfortunate about the travel on the scope. That’s definitely not what they advertised it as. I’m just getting into long range shooting, for the time being 500-600 yards is long range for me. How has it been in terms of holding zero and durability?

They claim 24 mils of travel i believe but dont quote me on that. I'm not an avid long range shooter either all shots on game will be within 300yrds for me and where I hunt. Have had no issues with losing zero so far. This has been my first yr hunting with it and did more archery hunting this yr then rifle. I did drag it through the dense woods in PA and may or my not have banged it on a couple trees crawling through some nasty under grown. Have some beauty marks on the scope body now but haven't experienced any issues to date that would make me want to change anything. I love it. Also I never kept it in a hard case only soft case so it got thrown around a couple times and pilled in with other gear in my truck.
