New Sitka Mountain Pants vs Old?

Sitka came out with new mountain pants this year, and I'm curious if anyone has got their hands on them yet. Supposedly the fabric is a little more durable, which makes me want a pair. My concern is they also "improved" the fit, but my current mountain pants (bought last year) fit so incredibly well, that I'm afraid I'm not going to like the changes on the new ones.

Can anyone tell me what about the fit has changed?

Id say just email Sitka and ask them. Thought about buying a pair but I'm fine with the old mountain pants for now

I got mine last week. I also have the old and prefer the old fit to the new, but they are close. The fit is just a little more "athletic".

I sent an email to Sitka, and here is the reply I got:

The new fit has a slightly slimmer waist, with a little bigger seat and
thigh area, and a more tapered calf. This allows the pant to feel better in
the thighs, and move better in the seat while hiking steep terrain. The
difference is fairly minimal, but feels great in the mountains. I would
definitely give them a shot.

How is the fabric on the new ones? Noticeably tougher? Like I mentioned in my original post, I love the fit of the old ones, but the tougher fabric is what I was interested in..

So I've been running these since they came out and I'm super impressed. The new fabric is tough as the old but breathes better and dries WAY faster when wet. The fit is subjective to be honest. I really like the fit and find it to be close to the old. I bought the same size as old and feel the natural curvature of the cut and light taper fit well. I'm built like a brick shit house too and have large thighs. Hands down one of my favorite pants of all time.

Why can't they come out we these in a solid color? Great pant - still one of my favorites after all the others I have tried.

I wish they would do another run in ASAT. The stuff they did in it years ago is exceedingly difficult to come by nowadays

In last years catalog, the Mountain Pants were listed in "Lead" as an option but never made it to production. I was bummed as I too would LOVE to see the Mountain Pant in a solid.

The new style pants are going to be a winner. The more time I spend in them, the more I like them. Though the fit is a bit more "athletic", they should be fine for me once I get my butt in sheep shape.
