Get some dental bands off Amazon. No problem. Seems to be what rocket sold them with originally. I'm still running miniblasters. I will be sad when I run out. I'm not a western hunter, but I would say I see 75% of the whitetails I've shot with the miniblasters die within sight.
Thanks will try them on some hogs. I have sidewinders because I ran out of miniblasters.

They look like a great head and I’ve been impressed with what a friend of mine has seen with the 2inch. The new dull tip is a little bit of an odd choice to me and something I don’t love the idea of

Just shot a bull with these ....very disappointed. First shot was perfect location, hit a rib...only got got about 3 inches of penetration, no blood. 285fps, 505gr at 25 yards. He ran about 20 yards, stopped and carried on with his regular business. I caught up with him about 30 minutes later and got a frontal on him that did the job. Before that shot he looked pretty uninjured . I won't be using mechanicals or hybrids at the front of quiver ever again....as the first shot should have been deep penetrating, per Lusks data . 73lb Hoyt alphax, 31" draw

Field Report- shot a doe yesterday at 34 yards broadside. I am somewhat disapointed. I got a pass through but the arrow didnt go all the way through, just stuck out the other side. I hit a rib and went through it but it bent both the bleeder and main blade. Entrance and exit holes were barely bigger than the 1.5" cutting diameter. The doe died within 15 yards but I attribute that to the shot and any broadhead would have given that result. From what I have experienced Sevr's in general just soak up the kinetic energy and kill the momentum. I bought 3 total so I have two more I will use and report back on but this is my initial thoughts.

Adding Pictures. Hard to capture a good one of the bleeder. The blade does still pivot as it should but with the rib I hit being complete cut in half I would assume that is from the bleeders and the main blade should have been left pristine. The main blades are still very sharp.

SEVR 2.0 on a bull of a lifetime. Hit a rib on the way in, 5” penetration, and blade bent so it penetrated stuck as shown (1” dull bent cut). 490gr at 303 fps. Followed sparse blood drops about 150 yards before the arrow fell out, then hole sealed up and no blood just tracks for another 150, and then the grass got too long I couldn’t see nothing anymore. Wide open country. Grid searched and glassed over miles of the open country checking brushy draws. Think he survived it.

I don’t know about the pivot. Have shot a few bulls where a blade bends during the pivot and you only get a half cut the rest of the way and little penetration. Maybe there is a diminishing return when it comes to speed with them or something, idk. Learned my lesson and don’t shoot elk with expandables anymore.

Bad experience for me with a Sevr. 18yd f/up shot. Hit a rib and completely bent the tip and maybe 10” of penetration. Got my bull but will probably not put a Sevr back in the quiver. Not even a f/up shot for me. Too risky and I will stick with all fixed blades on big game.
I really want to like the head and how it flies but it did not perform well.

I had this exact same thing happen in 2022 on an elk. I will never use a Sevr on an elk again. Penetration killer.

I shot a bull in 2022 with a SEVR that disappeared into the bull. The shot was a touch high, but still in the lungs. Heard what we thought was the bull falling a few minutes after the shot. Never found the arrow, a single drop of blood, or the bull.

I shot a whitetail doe with a SEVR at about 10 yards from an 18 ft platform that I would have bet every nickel I own, that I had pin wheeled her. She took a couple steps behind a big holly tree. I assumed she was dead. 15 minutes later she appears on the opposite side of the tree. I aimed at, and hit, the entrance hole from the first shot. She went 30 yards and tipped over dead. The first shot deflected worse than anything I’ve ever experienced, it hit her just above mid body 2” behind the shoulder and exited on the SAME side as the shot just beside the sternum. The arrow more or less hit her and turned close to perpendicular of its original flight path, getting only one lung.

Of the 15 or so animals I killed with SEVRs, I was never impressed by their performance, specifically blood letting. Personally, I think they had the marketing machine of Easton backing them in the outdoor industry, and it just so happens they perform well on Lusk’s protocol. They’re far from the best mechanical head on the market in my honest opinion.

We will see what happens with these on white tail out of the new bow. Pretty conflicted inside about shooting a mechanical. Asked the fb machine for pics/stories and setups. Over 40 positive responses.

I had this happen to me on two Axis Bucks when on Maui. The blood trails were decent or nonexistent on the heads that did function correctly. I only use three-blade mechs now and have had zero issues.

I lost a bull two seasons back with the Sevr 1.5 non hybrid. I shot him twice with a 1.5 once at 25 yds (or less) and a follow up shot at 67. Neither passed through and the first for sure didn't hit anything but ribs. Blood trail was very poor and I lost him. I'm pretty high energy/M at 445 grains 294 fps with a sturdy full titanium front end and a micro shaft. Fixed blade tuned.

Then I watched my buddy blow through a bull with the 1.5 hybrid at 50 yards this season in a similar location. Shot placement hosed both of us and we didn't recover either. So the moral of the story to me is, mechanicals are a crap shoot on elk.

Sevr is one of the better options though. Personally, I don't see the point of the normal 1.5 and I'd skip it and go to the 1.5 Hybrid for closer shots, 1.75 or 2.0 for longer shots. 125 grain versions are stronger. My theory is that once you're blowing your load opening the mechanical you're giving up high probability of passing through say two ribs or getting through after the near side scap. So I believe you're better off with the bigger cut.

Personally, I'd like to see the Sevr in 150 all titanium. But with thicker blades and a further distance from the blade to the front of the tip.

Here's a pic of the 1.5 that I shot. Blades are still quite sharp following the shot. I hand sharpen every broadhead. However, look at the curled tip. Not what I would expect from a titanium head, through ribs, at 18 yards. These kinds of threads remind my why a fixed blade broadhead always rides in the #1 spot in my quiver for ELK. After the initial shot with a fixed blade, the bull went over a knob and laid down. I snuck into 18 yards and thought it would be a good opportunity to use the Sevr for the 1st time to make a perfect behind the shoulder, double lung shot, to anchor the bull. After the shot with the Sevr, the bull stood up and I used a different fixed blade broadhead for the 3rd arrow. He wobbled and fell right over dead where he laid. The Sevr got very little penetration and I have no intention of using again. For all the stories you hear from Sevr's blowing through elk at longer distances, I hear an equal number of bad experiences, even when the shot is "good".
