New Seeking PH3 availability?

Does anyone know when the new Seekins PH3 will be available for order? It's backordered everywhere I've looked . Has it even been released yet? Also, are there any stores you recommend for placing an order?

I just got back from wild sheep show where I spoke with the folks from seekins. Sounded like they would start shipping next month.

I placed an order through scheels for a hunter element and it sounded like I should see it sometime in March.

Fwiw the guys at seekins were very friendly and informative, makes it easy to want to support a company like that.

The guys at the Seekins booth at the Sheep Show told me they should start shipping next month. He didn’t say which ones though, but I was looking at the Element Hunter.

Not too hi jack the thread but did they say anything on weights? Current owner and lover of a 300 PRC PH2. Would like to see the weight of the element hunter with the chassis!

They told me a half pound heavier. It has been a while since I handled a PH2 but it felt significantly heavier than the old model. The Hunter Element in the chassis felt nice and light, and will probably be my next gun.
It could be the balance of the gun that makes it feel much heavier, most of the weight is in the butt of the gun. I didnt love the way the PH3 felt. It could be nice to soak up some of the recoil though.

How was the bolt lift compared to the PH2? I really like the idea of the 60 degree bolt throw if their claim that bolt lift on the PH3 is lighter than the PH2 due to the design of the new action is true.

The 60 degree bolt throw was nice, it wasnt stiff like you'd kind of expect it to be. I dont recall the bolt throw on the PH2 but this one is smooth.

My PH3 is apparently shipping today.

I ordered a PH3 online yesterday from EuroOptics. They sent me an FFL request and receipt. The latter had a ship date of that day, which surprised me so I sent them a follow up asking them if the ship date is correct. Their website says backordered and there seems to consensus on the Internet that they won't be available for a month, so I figured "that ship date has to be a mistake."

They responded, via email, today that the rifle was shipping today.


<shrugs shoulders> I still think it's a mistake, but maybe lady luck is shining on me.

Actions with < 90 degree bolt lifts usually have both multiple, and smaller locking lugs, usually 3 or even 9.

There is an amount of locking lug surface required to handle the pressure, and 2 opposing locking lugs of needed size, necessitates a 90 degree turn to lock/unlock.

Also, 2 lugs doesn't necessitate a 90 degree bolt. Tikka is a good example of a 2 lug 70 degree bolt. A bunch of 2 lug customs are offering 75 degree bolts now too (Impact, BAT, Kelbly, defiance)

Fantastic! In the Seekins Facebook group, Glen mentioned that PH3 shipments have started this week. Did your payment include a 30% deposit or was it paid in full? I understand orders with full payment are prioritized over deposits. Also, what caliber did you order? I made a prepayment for a 22" 7mm BC in woodland.

I believe on the video release they talked about this briefly. If I am not mistaken they said the lug surface area was increased over the previous ph2. Pretty sure I heard that.

Multiple factors at play. I'd assume lug friction, effort needed to compress firing pin spring and over what distance of bolt lift, and cocking ramp friction/geometry are some items that impact how heavy bolt lift is. It's not a X is always lighter/heavier than Y type thing.
