I’ve got a Garmin pro 550 plus with a tt15 collar, about 4-4.5 years old. Works well and love the set up. Great for points, recall with the beep from a long distance.
I’ve now got a 17 week old griff who’s coming along nicely, need a new collar.
Is there much benefit from a cheaper/used/refurb collar?
I think I’ll keep it until it dies, making me think new is better.
Any warranty concerns with their collars in the last few years that would lean further toward a new one?
Thanks,
Jon

Collar clinic is closed apparently, gundogsupply has refurb tt15 for 250, may try one of those.

I wouldn't have any hesitation on a refurbished collar. I've bought some tt15s refurbished and they do well.

I also have tt25s now and find that it's pretty much the same collar as the tt15 and the only advantages you get are if you pair it with an alpha 200/300. So with a 550 plus I don't see the point.

The only collars I would stay away from are the minis. I learned that Garmin had supply chain issues with them when talking to collar clinic/other suppliers so they have inferior parts. And because of that - there were much more issues.
