Hey fellow mule deer hunters. I'm releasing a book, "Hunting Big Mule Deer: How to Take the Best Buck of Your Life" later this summer.

We're soliciting comments on cover choice AND giving away three copies over on the Rok Blog. Would love to hear from you.

Thanks!

Let me know when you can pre order! Black looks the best with its contrast and that dropper buck.

AWESOME Robby!!! Good for you bud. I can't wait to order one, hell I'll probably buy a couple and give to a couple of buddies of mine that are always trying to pick my brain on hunting mule deer.
I like all covers but I love hunting high country alpine bucks which looks like cover #1. BUT #3 is an incredible buck with a black background which leaves the imagination open to foothills, sage flat or high country.

I'm picking #3

Thanks guys, all the extra eyes are helping.

Slim, depending on how it comes together, I'm planning a "buddy" special when buying two. Thanks!

I like the one on the left. It's different, and caught my eye.

Not sure about the signature though. I'd like to see in the same type as the rest of it.

Can't wait to order it, I like #3 best, then 2, and finally one. The first one looks dated to me, I'm sure it will be full of great stuff though and hopefully will be released prior to hunting season this year.

#3 cover.....it's a buck of a lifetime (which helps the title) and the black (dark) background allows the photo to "pop" out at you.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^beat me to the keyboard.......took the words out of my mouth.......the black background makes the photo "pop"

I probably like the one on the right the best too, but a lot of people take issue with sitting far behind the horns to make them look bigger and it doesn't seem like a good idea to put a pic on the cover that might illicit that kind of reaction to potential buyers. Maybe that doesn't matter, but it does seem like a lot of people get their undies in a bundle over that. I still like cover #3 the best though...

Good input and helpful in making decisions,

Scoot, I've had a few comments on my position in #3 in an attempt to make the buck look bigger. I guess I just don't get it. I'm sitting just behind his centerline leaned against him- my hand is on his shoulder. I like these better than a pose like in #1 as that one seems all hunter and less buck. I want to see their bodies too. You're right, some guys get their shorts in a knot unless you're sitting in front of the deer

Bohntr- always good to hear from you

Ridgerunner, unless we hit a snag, should be out well before hunting season

Robby, just so I'm clear- I wasn't crackin' on the pose. I was just commenting that some people get their panties in a wad about that. It does look like your farther back than you said you were, but I have no doubt what you said is true. Just an observation and a heads up about how I figured some uptight people might respond... To me #3 gets the nod!

Yes, #1 has an old school look to it. That's why I like it. I know Robby is a still hunter, and that's as old school as you can get. The point is to sell the book, not the buck on the cover.
