I think he oughta get a M1 garand and moose hunt with it
I was afraid of losing maximum distance capability, and I do love big bores, and hence I own a 416 Rigby alreadyWhat about the classic 375 HH Mag?
I have been spying them lately, or a MauserUSA as well. I bid on a 300Wby at a RMEF banquet two years ago, but eventually came down to me, and another guy with bottomless pockets. If not a modern belt- less round but max performance then you should definitely consider a 300 WBY
My 280Rem will run distance with either the 308, or 30-06. I have a big bore already with my 416 Rigby so when I hit the lottery I'm ready for Africa lolOne of these is the way. Skip the 300wm and pick one form this list.
Exactly, it's like women always need new shoes, right? My 358Win is a boat paddle. I recommend to anyone who has one to replace the plastic recoil plate with a Limb Saver pad. Makes night and day difference in the pleasure of shooting it.Mine was a 300 WM Model 77 with a boat paddle stock. That was a great rifle, no doubt, but a heavy bastard...considering I'm the original UL-UL weenie.
When I first moved to Alaska I asked what I needed for moose and that's what was recommended. Within a couple years, I figured out that a little 20" 308 Scout Rifle would work just fine, and never looked back.
Seeing you have a 280 Remington, and a 358 Winchester, I'm just not seeing much gap a moose could squeeze through...but what fun is that?
