New Mexico Unit 34/36 Turkeys

Hello, my cousin and I are interested in hunting Merriams in unit 34 or 36 of NM. We have hunted Rio’s our entire lives and want a change of pace (mountain turkeys!). We have hunted both 34 and 36 for elk and are pretty familiar with those areas. Any tip or tactics for Merriams in this area? Obviously, don’t share specific spots if you’re not comfortable with it.
