Hello All, I've got a second archery tag. And after some extensive E-scouting, I've got some questions about roads and access points to pack in away from pressure also where to access water in those more remote areas. Of course, I've already dropped waypoints on every water tank I can find, and looked at google earth satellite imagery of every inch of roads. But I would really appreciate a more detailed picture from anyone familiar with my unit

Thanks in advance.

That unit, I would pack in water the week or two before. Pretty dry out there.
I'm certainly considering that possibility. But I'll be in that unit probably 3-4 days before season starts.

You can pack lots of water in 3 or 4 days ;)

Depending on distance - say, 10 or 12 miles roundtrip - a healthy 30 to 50 year old male should be able to pack 8 gallons each day, times 3 days, equals 24-ish gallons. I physically hauled 20 gallons into one of my Coues spots, a couple years ago. Very doable.

You don’t have to get terribly far from trails, to find elk. They are scattered, utv or arc is almost a must, get away from the main roads near water sources and you should find elk
