I'm excited to find out. My 1st year to apply for out of state hunt. I'm hoping for beginners luck in drawing a NM elk tag
How dare you get my hopes upI’ve heard rumors that there were between 15-30k less applicants this year. My guess is those are mostly NR applications so you might get lucky!

But at least in NM you have a chance every year! Most all I know fought for the straight 85/15 no outfitter BS. Good luck!I'll be hunting a Valle for sure then ....... well probably not.... but a guy can dream.
Not living in NM anymore sure makes these draws seem bleak, odds just aint good for NR. Ah well. Hunting CO instead aint so bad.
Yea... its hard to get tags even when you live in NM. I wanna hunt this year but if my brother (living in ABQ) finally breaks his bad luck streak and draws a NM bull tag ill be down there calling for him... he's been helping with my hunts where he can for years now because he hasnt drawn in NM for.... a long long time. BUT! hey if he doesnt draw i'll be happy to have him tag along with me haha. But at least in NM you have a chance every year! Most all I know fought for the straight 85/15 no outfitter BS. Good luck!
You stop that right now. All the Colorado elk moved to NM.All the elk in NM have moved to Colorado.
Heard it was around 8,000 less from another post I saw. That guy works for nmdgfSecond hand gossip. One was a guy on another forum saying his G&F buddy told him 30k less. One was the gun counter salesman BSing with me about hunting, units, etc. he told me he has several G&F customers that told him 15k less.
We’ll see next year when the numbers are released.

I heard 6k more applicants....So first rumor on this thread was 30k less, then 15k less, then 8k less. Pretty soon it's gonna be that there was 2k more applicants this year
