New Mexico backdoor method open

A few buddies have let me know that they might have the back door method for New Mexico figured out.

Login to your New Mexico account, go to my purchases, go down to your hunt code you applied for and hit review. If there is a carcass tag status they are saying you drew the tag.

If that’s the truth, my gf drew deer and antelope. And I struck out on deer and antelope. Not sure if the method is right or not, but seems like it could be true.

mine says carcass tag status 'mailing!!!???' doesn't indicate what if any tag/gmu that is for though. no freakin' way i drew given the super low odds??!! would be pretty cool, though of course i just threw $100 nonrefundable at colorado for a hopeful limited elk tag there.

edit - maybe 'mailing' was just a choice between getting tags mailed vs emailed?

My gfs says mailing too, mine doesn’t even have a carcass tag status or box or anything out of the ordinary. I’ve got friends in NM that have mailing status on elk and nothing out of the ordinary on deer antelope and bighorn

Edit: I applied for both of mine and my gf’s tags the exact same way. So if neither of us drew it should look the same id think. But as it is now she has a carcass tag status and I’ve not nothing.

i rounded, but now you have to buy the small game license. i'm way back east so that is not going to be used if i don't draw.

Man I hope it’s not accurate, but I hope guys draw those tags anyway. I’m a resident and have apps in for every available species (including some with high draw odds) and it would mean I didn’t draw a single tag.

I seriously doubt I drew both Antelope, where my highest draw chance was about 5% on my 3rd choice, and Barbary Sheep, where my highest draw chance was about 12% on my 3rd choice. But it would be sweet if I did!

I was thinking the same on the mailing status being an option we chose during application. But who knows...
