new mexico archery unit 52

drew second season archery. looking to hit the wilderness with the back pack! would horses be a plus? hows the water for stock? any help would be great!

Water everywhere as elk. Horses would be a plus but I hunt it every year on foot. Even the non-wilderness has limited roads and do not overlook the Broke-off and other areas. San Antonio Peak does not look like much but there are elk up there and with horses you could get up there easily. Good luck and enjoy, it is my favorite unit!

Great unit, tagged out there two years ago. Like hunting1 said San Antonio mtn is overlooked, but lots of elk. I didn't hunt the wilderness as I was covered up with elk every time I walked a mile or more from FR87
