Pack my bag!

For a backcountry early season archery elk hunt in NM I would only take one pair of binoculars. What you have around your neck. You won’t be sitting on a high point glassing for animals in more open country. I never carry a spotter no matter what. If I see a legal animal in my binos then that’s good enough for me. On more open country type hunts or above timberline I will bring a tripod for my binos but never a spotter. I just don’t want to carry the extra weight and I don’t need to zoom in on an animal I know is legal and close enough to hunt and try a stalk.

Jeez in my opinion some of you guys way overpack! Maybe I’m just not cleanly enough haha.

I can do one pair of boxers, one pair of pants, and one pair of all my layers which is usually like 3 different weights of merino with a puffy and rain gear. One pair merino long Johns. A luxery would be an extra pair of socks.

Gaiters if you are wading through wet brush to keep the feet dry.
