I'm thinking the same thing. I know all I'm going to see is red, but here I am, checking RS for updates!Wednesday.
Simms, Kuiu, Sitka or Chene’?OK just got word that NMGFD is having severe technical issues and they can't complete the Draw in a fair and equitable manner, so they are cancelling the Big Game Season this year. But they are working out a deal with the State of Florida.... anyone who applied for NM Big Game animals of any species can hunt Burmese Python in the Everglades with any legal weapon. As a gesture of good will, NMGFD will supply the waders.
Alligators don't have a preference....Simms, Kuiu, Sitka or Chene’?
You’ll be lucky to get Frogg Togg’s. Which honestly if you’re bustin brush jump shooting woodies ain’t a bad optionSimms, Kuiu, Sitka or Chene’?

Fu*&ing Curtis!I like to think there’s some guy named Curtis working at New Mexico Game & Fish who was given just a smidge too much power and he gets to hit ‘publish’ on the results.
Curtis rolls into the office around 9:07 with a gas station burrito and a large coffee, logs into his computer, and immediately sees 47,000 people refreshing the draw results page like it’s the stock market in 2008.
He leans back in his chair… takes a slow bite… and just whispers to himself, “Not yet.”
Meanwhile we’ve got grown men:
Curtis sees all of it. Curtis just smiles. He’s never been in control of anything.
- Checking their email every 3 minutes
- Logging in from their phone, laptop, work computer, and probably their truck screen
- Convinced “it’ll drop at noon” based on absolutely nothing
He’s got the results ready. They’ve BEEN ready.
But Curtis? Curtis is a man of the people. A man who enjoys the suspense. A man who understands that hope is strongest right before it’s crushed by a “Unsuccessful” label.
And honestly, this is probably the only place Curtis feels any control… because you just know he went home last night, tried to tell his wife about how important “draw release timing strategy” is, and she hit him with a “Curtis, take the trash out and quit talking about elk tags.”
So now he’s back at the office… empowered… dangerous.
Somewhere around 2:43pm he hovers over the “publish” button… pauses… takes another sip of coffee…
…and opens Solitaire instead.
Stay strong, boys. Curtis is watching.
No, its currently monday, buy a calendar.
