I'm a huge Kifaru fan and own a couple of their frames and bags but I would not take a new out the box frame strap it to my back and head into the mountains for a week or more. If it wasn't in my possession at least a few weeks in advance I would take my old pack. Odd they wouldn't of launched the new line a month or so earlier to avoid this anxiety so close to the season.

yup. My trip is a scouting expedition so I figured it would be a good test period for me but you're right, I would not hunt with a pack until it was completely dialed in.

I agree to a point but after having so many Kifaru packs and frames it will not take much to dial it in. I would be ok getting it and leaving the next day as in the field adjustments are not difficult and no special tools needed.

Dotman is right. I'd worry way more about trying to fit a frame to my body in short time if it wasn't a Kifaru. The boys in the shop do an outstanding job getting a base line fit with the measurements we supply.

Btw, I'm an "8/11" guy also and still haven't seen a shipping confirmation yet.

Perhaps it would be helpful for those that received shipment dates to relay details about what they ordered. For example, perhaps the UL versions are shipping now but there is still a wait on frames with composite or aluminum stays, etc. etc.

My guess is that it's in the order the purchase was made. I ordered a week or two after they were announced and still got 8/11 (pickup); nothing yet. I got a DT1 with the hunting pack. I know it's not the DT1 they're waiting on as I got a call with a question about 2 weeks ago when they were putting that together. I am heading up backpacking a week from Fri, so if I don't here anything by next Mon I may have to call and beg.

I ordered about 15 minutes after it went live here and got 8/11. So I don't think that's the case.

I also ordered within 30 mins of introduction and received an estimated shipping date of 8/11.

We've got to remember the 8/11 (or any estimated shipping date somebody received in the first confirmation email) is only a rough estimate. Nowhere in the confirmation email is it implied it's a hard fast shipping date.

I know they got an unexpected military order the day or day after it went live and it has put them under some strain. The military has priority as they should but the military order wasn't in the plan.
