New Kifaru clothing

The LPP is being discontinued, I asked the question on facebook awhile back and emailed. They said it was being replaced and people would be happy with the replacement....

If what I’ve seen is the replacement… no, people will not be happy. I certainly wasn’t.

Is there some competition to see who can charge the most for ‘technical hunting clothing’ and see who can get people to pay the most? Just had to shake my head. Def not the Kifaru I used to buy from. 45% off those prices would be a ‘maybe’. Still shaking my head.

I noticed they say the Torlander has a full membrane. Can’t imagine that’s proprietary, but they also don’t say what it is. I’d hazard a guess that’s what the $300 price tag is about.

There are other high end soft shells in the mountaineering/alpinism market that land right at the same mark. The Eiger Norwand stuff from Mammut comes to mind…most of the high end Schoeller stuff lands in that range. On the other hand, if these Kifaru pants were using Schoeller (or something like it) I’d be a shocked if there wasn’t some advertising about it.

GOHUNT podcast had these guys on talking about the products. They did mention this fabric in the torlander, currently they are the only people hunting clothes to be using it if I recall correctly.

I have no experience with it, since it just came out.

But let's be real.
  • $300 for a pair of 100% recycled polyester pants.
  • $310 for a Primaloft gold jacket, with 133g of insulation.
  • $170 for a pair of 100% recycled polyester pants.
  • $180 for a grid fleece. ("But....but.....but.....it has thumb loops! And a 'shooter neckline'!"......)

They can give the clothing and materials all the cute names they want.

Jumping the shark.

Where are you getting this from? I can't find anything on it

The stuff looks bad ass, especially the grid fleece. The demo he did on go hunt podcast was cool. Is it better xxxx? I dunno, don’t care. I’m kifaru fan boy so I’ll buy it. I’d rather support them then most the other companies. $300 for a pant ain’t bad if it’s decent. (Income depending). Hope they do good and grow more and keep making different pieces. I’d like to support BP but it’s not the greatest quality, ok for price point if you catch a sale. My opinion anyways.
