I wondered why no one is talking about this. I emailed two senators in my state to voice my opinion. Just seems crazy for a guy that thinks like that to be involved with BLM.

If the Safari Club and the Sierra Club ever agree on anything, it'll be opposition to this guy.

What a joke.

This appointment along with the dismantling and moving of all the BLM offices from D.C. is the beginning of this administrations slow quiet plan to transfer more land. Just my opinion... but things will not get better because of these changes

Oh yes that is the plan I mean why else would the open up millions of new acres to hunting on federal parks and monuments if they were not planning to strip away our public lands.

Heres a link that allows you to easily send a pre-drafted letter in opposition from BHA

Why else would they appoint someone who has spent his entire career trying to dispose of this nation's public lands?

There is nothing good about this guy. We need to use his appointment as another opportunity to let our elected officials know how valuable public lands are to us.

Selling/transferring federal land to the states is a stated republican agenda. It sucks but we shouldn’t be surprised. Too bad starting down the slippery slope of gun control is on the democratic agenda...

As an Alaskan, I'd love to see the feds turn more land over to the state, since we ended up with relatively so little.

It's a long, convoluted process...millions and millions of acres remain "top-filed" by the state, but it will take time...

Alaska may not want that if the wild fires come every year. The cost of fighting fires on (currently) federal lands would absorb the entire budget set aside for land and conservation in most western states. Then the state would sell the land to balance the budget and “to protect” the rest of the land. Except they’ll do it every couple years... plus lease it for extraction etc.

I'm fine with them leasing the land for development; and the feds usually just let the fires burn anyhow, which creates its own set of issues.
