New member from the Shenandoah Valley in VA. I mainly whitetails on George Washington National Forest here in VA. Low deer populations and heavy hunting pressure, but you can get it done here in GWNF, if you get in pretty deep and be persistent. I also love to predator hunt when I can't deer hunt. Actually I love to hunt everything that is in season. I enjoy camping and catfishing also. Have around 200,000 acres of George Washington NF in my front yard, so anything I can do outdoors is truly a blessing.

Welcome. I'm in NoVA. Need to get to GWNF sometime and do some rifle hunting. Pretty much limited to archery in my area.
I'd be more than happy to take you along sometime. Can't guarantee you will get anything, but it's not just all about punching tags for me. It's all about getting out and enjoying God's beautiful creations and enjoying it with others.

I was able to tag out on bucks the first Monday(9pt) and Tuesday(7pt) of rifle this year. Both were killed within 100 yards of each other, but using different approaches for different winds. It definitely wasn't easy though. I have walked over 48 miles, in 10 days of rifle and muzzleloader hunting according to OnX. That's not even including my scouting and checking trail cameras. Fortunately we had an awesome mast of acorns this year.

Welcome. My first visit to Shenandoah was last Spring. I was blown away by the amount of wildlife I saw while hiking around. Like a wildlife zoo around there. Hiking around NC I rarely ever come across any wildlife. Looking to return next spring, and hike the AT section through the Shenandoahs. Beautiful country you got up there.

Ah, what the hell. I’ll give you my honey spot. It’s way over there....nope, to the left. Little further.

There you go. Have fun.

I’ll only admit this to my fellow Virginians:

I had to google what “FNG” meant.

😂
I still don't even know what "FNG" is, just seen where people was posting about being newbies, so figured I should introduce myself. Guess I should Google it myself.

The SNP and skyline drive don't count. That whole area is closed to hunting.

No deer or anything else in the National Forest.
