I did. I havnt used it yet, besides for setting it up briefly. Initial impressions are that it’s very well thought out and designed. The solid inner and aluminum poles are both exactly what I needed. It comes in about 1 lb less weight than the Niak. The Niak however is super easy to use and has more robust materials, so it’s a little less finicky to set up and use in terrain where you might otherwise be worried about damaging lighter materials.Bringing this back. Did you buy the tent and how did it do.
I need a 1 person tent and want somewhat bombproof free standing. Niak and the x dome 1+ solid with aluminum poles are what is on my list currently.
I do think that the X-dome will fare better in the wind, especially lateral winds, as you can use your trekking poles as supports inside the the fly via the handle attachments at the top to secure the poles in place. I’m excited to try it out and get some nights in it.
