Listened to Born Primative/A Snyders podcasts while driving to work

Had these guys on. Designed a whole new backcountry stove.
Pot is pretty slick.
Simmer control, 8.5-inch folding spork, removable wind screen
All packs into the pot.
Supposed $250.00 street price. This went along with Arron leading the argument that jetboil is anti-hunting, MSR is natural.
These guys are pro 2A and hunting.

 
Yeah, Fire maple is my go-to as well.
Folding spork has been done.
I do like the pot design.

No idea where it's made, overseas is my assumption.
 
I agree with you all. Looks great but the price tag is just too much. I’ll stick with my Mini Mo, that I was able to buy for $75, with 8 fuel canisters! But thanks for sharing!
 
Unless this is USA made, it ain't gonna make it. And I dont see USA plastered all over the launch page, so I'd bet not. $250 is insane for an unproven outdoor brand using oriental manufacturing. The stove space is pretty full.

The positive: I do like the idea of the silicone surround on the lid. Thats a great idea if they solved the issue of keeping the silicone attached during constant thermal cycling.
 
$250 seriously? That thing looks cool but a $50 pocket rocket is all you need for any conditions. Been using that thing for 10 years from April to December.

But I guess those who spend $500 on a knife will buy this.
I’m waiting on the collab to buy one…😂
 
I've been a stove pioneer, slut, beta tester for 20 plus years. If someone can make the MSR windburner a bit lighter, add an igniter and split the pot in half vertically... you'll have the ultimate unit. I found a spork the fits in the lid hole and beside the stove yet still can reach the bottom and added a small ferro rod.

The biggest problem I've had was the wind kills everything and zaps fuel.

The $250 jobby doesn't look like a simple windscreen....but not something that is going to work in a 15mph wind.
 
That's a nice-looking kit. I'd like to see the specs on the burner. Going to be a hard sell when a $50 dollar regulated burner produces the same outcome at a 1/5 of the price. I do like the design, tho.
 
This thing good? Whats the durability like?
That one is new. Another Rokslider just bought one and is trying it out. I assume he’ll reply back once he’s tested and tried it. Normally I’d have one already and would be testing it but I’ve got too many irons in the fire at the moment. I own other Fire Maple pots and there’s nothing inferior about them.

We could have made a cheaper system. That definitely would have been easier. But it would have left us with the same frustrations we had with every other cook system we had used. We wanted to fix those problems, not repeat them.

So we chose the highest-quality materials and packed more functional features into a single system than the alternatives out there. That does add cost, but we believe it is worth it because it also adds better performance, reliability, durability, and longevity.

This system was built to handle all the conditions we face on backcountry hunts: wind, rain, freezing temps, high elevations, and hard use. Not just boiling water on a calm, sunny day.

We are a startup built by two brothers from the ground up, doing the best we can to build the best product possible. The feedback here is genuinely appreciated and helps us as we continue to improve and grow.
 
With the Roughridge being a non heat exchanger pot I’m wondering what the real world fuel consumption is going to be. We’ve got a lot of hybrid systems with heat exchanger pots to compare with so it’ll be interesting to see. Boiling water on a calm sunny day? What’s that??? My preferred hybrids have been completely fine and usable in inclement weather :)

Looks like a great opportunity to have them tested in a market that you two have designed them for. Send some out to get feedback to warrant the price tag. It looks great, but that’s a little rich for my blood.
